Doug Ford cut OSAP grants from 85% to 25%. His justification: students were abusing the system. New data shows that was not true. Here’s what actually happened: Ontario colleges became completely dependent on international student tuition revenue. When the federal government FINALLY cut international student permits, the colleges lost their cash flow overnight. Ford needed to bail them out. So he slashed student grants. Then RAISED tuition. And blamed the students. Ontario students from low-income families now get 75% of their aid as loans instead of grants. This means more debt & less support. All to bail out institutions that Ford’s own government failed to regulate. He blamed the kids for the problem the system created. He’s not a real Conservative.

Young people in Ontario are already stretched thin and Doug Ford is making it worse. He’s lifting the tuition freeze and cutting OSAP grants, forcing students to borrow more just to finish school. You can’t build a strong economy on a generation buried in debt. Take action at and join the thousands of Ontarians telling Doug Ford to reverse the cuts.

Ontario's schools need more adults. We need more EAs and more educators in our schools to keep students safe and help them learn. Children in Grade 6 were in Kindergarten when the Ford government took office. EQAO scores are on their watch, and this government is failing our kids. That is why Ontario-Liberals are calling on the Ford government to invest $1 billion in new education funding so boards can hire the staff students rely on every day. Students should not have to pay the price for underfunding. It is time to give them the support they deserve.

Parents will not pay the full cost of the university programmes because the Government will provide upto 95 percent support to each student. The New Funding Model for universities has made higher education more accessible and affordable for all students. The government offers scholarships and loans tailored to meet the varying needs of students: - Students from vulnerable families are placed in Band 1 and receive 95% government support. - Students in Band 2 receive 90% support. - Students in Band 3 receive 80% support. - Students in Band 4 receive 70% support. - Students in Band 5 receive 60% support. As promised by the President, No one is left behind!

A student held up a sign that read: Keep the world clean of Jews. The figure for the whole of the UK university sector would be even higher. At the European Affairs Committee this morning, we had the privilege of hearing from vivienne stern, the CEO of Universities UK about the Erasmus+ scheme and our EU reset. Given briefings that the Government is considering offering EU students lower fees - the same as UK students - to attend UK universities, it's imperative that we know the full costs to our universities. You can see my question below.
