That has nothing to do with N. E. S. or W. That is a bad parenting issue and the parents not teaching the children manners, courtesy and common decency. I lived all over the country and manners don’t change.

This is how I was raised, when you enter a room you speak to the people that are there. It’s proper etiquette, why would you want someone in your home who doesn’t speak to you?

Coming in your house and speaking to everybody and saying thank you after somebody holds the door are different though...that's just manners no matter where you are 💯💕

So true 🤣💯 1st time in school in NC, from DC, people were speaking and at 1st I thought they thought I was somebody they knew 🤣 I used to genuinely wonder why they were smiling and saying hi....I love it though!!!!

I’ve never met another northerner who doesn’t know how to greet ppl when they enter a house or know common courtesy . you must have gotten us confused with the west coast . northerners can be a little abrupt but we definitely know our manners .

I walk into peoples houses here and the people in the room don’t even look up. If you say hello they look right through you. That’s wrong right?

Honestly that’s not northern or southern thing like he said it’s common courtesy. We don’t play that in the north neither when someone helps you or holds a door you say thank you & you better speak if you enter somebody home.

Guess what. We dont care either. Who dont say Thank you? Ya weird. Every where people have manners and every where there are people who are rude. Control what you can. Thank you

I grew up in the Caribbean where common courtesy is a must, then I moved to New York where Walmart employees used to look at you like you stole something. THEY JUST WATCHED YOU PAY!!! Then I moved to CT when a sweet old lady said “thank you for shopping at Walmart”

@Buttercupjae This is a fact. My Dad was so strict with it he’d check you for not saying good morning and he didn’t give a damn how you were feeling. Speak and don’t wear out your welcome in someone else’s house.
