Trump says the biggest obstacle isn't Democrats — it's resistance from several Republican senators, naming Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Thom Tillis, Mitch McConnell, and suggesting Sen. Bill Cassidy is also against the bill. Trump is calling on the Senate to end the filibuster to get it passed but also expects at least one "common sense" Democrat to back it. His absence guaranteed that the Government escaped the accountability of a vote. The passage of this Bill through the Seanad, with its sinister new definition of gender, was a historic and grave moment for our country. In light of this the behaviour of the Senators mentioned above is of the lowest calibre and reveals how much they really care about these critical issues.
