MAHA was supposed to be a guiding principle for Trump’s second term, not just HHS. Yet the glyphosate getting a liability shield is now the defining decision of Trump’s second term when it comes to health, because the harm done by that will be 1,000x more than any minor changes they made to food or SNAP, which are negligible. To characterize that liability shield as anything other than a total betrayal of MAHA and an utterly catastrophic move for American public health is dishonest.

I understand, but I said it from the start. We are not going to get what we want. I’m not surprised. Glyphosate needs to go. I believe the only thing guaranteed by Trump was giving RFK Jr. the job at HHS. I just saw a post on Instagram of an owl 🦉 whose feet were deformed by pesticides. It affects not only the food but also our wildlife.

I understand that we couldn’t have expected to get all that wanted as well. But I think the glyphosate decision, which had the full throated support of Trump’s DOJ, is a much bigger deal than anything else MAHA has done, and it’s a slap in the face to Kennedy personally. This liability shield effectively betrayed and unraveled the biggest victories of his career as a lawyer fighting against Monsanto, and the harm it does massively outweighs any of the marginal positive things MAHA has done. Add on to that the lack of anything related to Covid justice and it looks a lot like MAHA has been totally subverted and crushed, from my point of view.
