I am disgusted by the announcement from Department of Health and Social Care that puberty blockers will no longer be available to young patients of private GI healthcare providers in the UK. Vicky Pattison said she was left feeling ashamed and dismissed by healthcare professionals whilst she waited five years for a Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder diagnosis. Last year Vicky met the Health Secretary Wes Streeting after she investigated medical misogyny for GMB. Today the Government is promising that it will provide faster care and put women's voices at the heart of their new women's health strategy. Vicky and Wes talk to Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.

Doctors are to be given training in better ways to diagnose and treat people with ME - as part of a long delayed action plan that's finally been published. The debilitating condition with a range of symptoms including severe exhaustion and constant pain, affects around 400,000 people in England and Wales. But with little funding allocated, is the plan enough to deliver the progress and recognition they need? Minister for Public Health and Prevention, Ashley Dalton, said that the plan 'will help tackle the stigma and lack of awareness of this condition through improved training for NHS staff'. The Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust told us: 'Due to patient confidentiality, we cannot comment on individual patient cases or discuss specific clinical interactions.'

Testing matters! Other folks’ test results do not! Why do so many people put more trust in someone else's STI test results than their own sexual health plan? A test only tells you what was detectable on the day it was taken. It doesn't account for what happened afterward or whether someone is still in a window period where an infection won't show up yet. That's why I don't put much weight on the result itself. I pay attention to whether someone takes their sexual health seriously. Are they getting tested regularly? Are they on PrEP if they're HIV-negative? Are they taking their ARVs and undetectable if they're living with HIV? Are they using Doxy-PEP when appropriate? Are they using other harm reduction strategies that fit their life? Those behaviors tell me much more than a screenshot of a negative test. You can't outsource your sexual health to another person. The best protection is building a prevention plan that works for you and sticking to it. Regular testing matters. Prevention matters. Taking ownership of your own sexual health matters.

“The Defence Investment Plan is coming. It will be published when it is ready, when it is robust and it is a plan that can be delivered”. The implication therefore is that the reason why the Defence Investment Plan will be nine months late if it’s delivered in May after the local elections, is because the reports of a £20bn+ funding gap are true, and as things stand the Defence Investment Plan isn’t ready, isn’t robust and can’t be delivered. Wes Streeting talks about raising defence spending to record levels, but those are currently just words. That increase isn’t scheduled to happen for another year, meanwhile Labour’s rhetoric doesn’t match their actions. They talk about good game but we can increasingly see this Government isn’t serious about defence, and isn’t prepared to do what it takes.

While patients wait years for surgery and months to see a specialist, Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer are threatening to cut the number of NHS specialist doctor training jobs. Most people don’t realise this, but doctors can’t just become Consultants, Surgeons or GPs on their own. They have to get a speciality training job first. These jobs are controlled and capped by the Government. So when the Government talks about cutting speciality training jobs, what they are really talking about is cutting the number of future specialist doctors in this country. At a time when the NHS already doesn’t have enough doctors. At a time when waiting lists are in the millions. At a time when patients are waiting months just to see a specialist and years for operations. Cutting the number of specialist training jobs will not fix the NHS. It will make waiting lists longer. It will make it harder to see a doctor. It will make the NHS worse for patients. Threatening to reduce the number of future doctors while patients are already struggling to access care is not just a deliberate workforce policy decision. It is a direct threat to the NHS and to the public who rely on it, coming from a ‘Labour’ Government.

Kayleigh: I'm tired of hearing the GOP doesn't have a health care plan. Their plan is cutting the waste, fraud, and abuse. Jessica: What about the 200,000 medicaid folks in Texas alone who have lost their health insurance because of the Republicans or the people that lose Obamacare subsidies and are paying 400% more? That isn't a health care plan that you are putting out there. Kayleigh: Yeah it is!

Have you seen this browser feature in GitHub Copilot app? I just stumbled across it - didn't realize it could do this! 🌟 1️⃣ Had it generate some code based on a plan 2️⃣ Once done, it automatically launched the front-end server and backend APIs 3️⃣ It launched the browser canvas in the app 4️⃣ It then loaded pages, searched for products, and clicked through the app all the way to the checkout screen to verify the features were implemented correctly. What!?🤯 First time I've seen that. Normally I'd have to write Playwright tests but it verified it's work automatically. 🚀

‘it is.’ was released 10 years ago today. The album to me was meant to talk about what everything is. It just ‘is’. Whether you do it or don’t. So why not do it? “You are a human being, so ‘be’.” Things will continue to change around me as well as within me. All I can do is try to be what I want to be more and more everyday. And continue to send out my communications through music. I’m grateful to everyone that has received and/or will receive the messages in the future. Thank you to all who have supported and will support in the future — love y’all.

It means we need better education, less stigma, and more people who know the difference between fear and facts. ‼️Also, there’s a difference between condomless sex and unprotected sex. 🍆Condomless means no condom was used. Unprotected means there was no protection at all. 🍑But protection can look like condoms, PrEP, testing, treatment, communication, and U=U. 👀 U=U means Undetectable = Untransmittable. If someone living with HIV is on treatment and maintains an undetectable viral load, they do not transmit HIV through sex.😁

Week 14. Day 1. It’s a long reflective point of view this evening. No argument about the chaos and chronic failures within the Nottingham Mental Health Trust. Today’s evidence speaks for itself. 😔 BUT 🔦It’s putting a spotlight now on what is clearly a national crisis. Not a phrase to use lightly. But it really is. Mental Health is crippled. Patients, staff, and the public, are not only being badly failed, untreated,unsupported and unmanaged; but all are at risk unless it’s urgently and honestly addressed.
