For the servers, bartenders, hotel workers, drivers, and other Georgians who depend on gratuities, we’ll eliminate the state income tax on tips. When a hurricane, international conflict, or other outside event sends fuel prices sharply higher, I’ll suspend the state gas tax so families get immediate relief at the pump. And we’ll cut state taxes on energy so families and small businesses see relief in their monthly utility bills.

Confirmed the new California mileage tax advanced by Democrats does not opt gas vehicle drivers out of the existing gas taxes Drivers will pay the highest gas taxes in the nation at the pump AND the new mileage tax California Lawmaker “It's coming. The gas tax revenues have decreased, we don't have money for our roads, so now we're going to tax Californians for every mile they drive, regardless if you drive a gas vehicle or an EV. And if you drive a gas vehicle, you might get double taxed with the highest gas tax rate in the nation, as well as a per mile tax”

Does Indiana have a different president or something? When Illinois families drive across the border into Indiana and see cheaper gas, that is not an accident. That is policy. Illinois drivers are paying more at the pump because state leaders made decisions that added more taxes onto every gallon of gas. Under Governor Pritzker and the state legislature, Illinois doubled the base gas tax through Rebuild Illinois and tied future increases to inflation. That means when families are already struggling with groceries, utilities, rent, mortgages, and property taxes, the state keeps taking more at the pump too. Indiana has made different choices. They have taken steps to give drivers relief, including suspending certain gas taxes during high price periods. This is why elections matter beyond speeches and slogans. Policy shows up in your grocery bill. Policy shows up in your property tax bill. Policy shows up every time you fill your tank. Illinois families are not imagining the difference. They are living it every week. We do not need leaders who keep asking working families to absorb the cost of bad policy. We need accountability, affordability, and common sense.

Illinois drivers pay the 2nd-highest gas tax in the nation. The state has billions for roads. Yet a retaining wall falls apart on one of our busiest highways. What exactly are we paying for?

Trump is now talking about suspending the national gas tax. GREAT. But if you want to see an even bigger change at the pump, tell your STATE to suspend its gas tax too. The national gas tax is about 18 cents a gallon. State taxes DOUBLE that. Or, in states like Washington and California, it's another 55 and 90 cents per gallon respectively. No wonder gas is so expensive there! Let's suspend ALL gas taxes.

Washington State just passed a bill to tax the super-rich, for the first time ever. The top .5% will have to pay a state income tax, raising up to $4 billion every year. That money will pay for school lunches, expand a tax credit for low-income families, and fund services.

After overturning California's gas-car ban, we're now going to cut its excessive gas tax. My bill sets a national cap that will save CA drivers 21 cents/gallon immediately. California has a higher gas tax than every state yet has worse roads than just about every state.
