Just as base commanders have authority to take down terrorists who ram through base security, they should be able to also take down drones that go over the base air space permitter. Letting unauthorized drones fly above our bases is just foolish.

If there's a major power war, it's very much going to be a drone war. It's going to be drones and AI. I do worry about the existential risk of AI, which is that if you employ AI and drones, do you go down this path where eventually you get to Terminator? We should try to avoid that and minimize the Terminator risk. [But] when you're making military drones, you are making Terminators. [In fact] I think you'll somewhat be forced into giving the drone localized AI, because if the AI is far away, it can't control as well as a localized AI. "We are currently focused on being the best at shooting down Group 1 and Group 2 drones, which are absolutely the hardest drones to engage... That said, we can shoot down Group 1 drones that are very far away." - CEO Michael Wior "So if I can hit a 7-inch target on a Group 1 drone from very far away, I can hit very vulnerable parts of a [Group 3] Shahed at the same distance." "Lasers are pretty good at shooting down Group 3 drones, but you have to keep your laser on target for 5 to 15 seconds in order to damage the airframe." We recognize the real war for us is the war against our nation and our sovereignty, which is why we’re investing heavily in drones right now.
