She's tiny, blue, and just adorable! A newly identified octopus species, small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, was discovered near Darwin Island in the Galápagos Islands. The little creature was first spotted in 2015 by researchers aboard a submersible in waters nearly 5,800 feet deep. Until now, the species was among the estimated 91% of potential marine species still unknown to humans, a figure from a 2011 study published in PLoS Biology. NEW SPECIES DISCOVERED! A new discovered life that is like a rolling version of our gut bacteria biome. And understanding it may help us understand ourselves and how our immune systems really work. Why biotics may be better than antibiotics someday. Although published in a peer-reviewed journal, it hasn’t a name yet. This species has a unique characteristic; every individual has thousands of single-celled prokaryotes living inside its cell, like our gut microbiome. You can see the prokaryotes as tiny rods inside. In the first clip, the organism is in its "dormant" state, with all the prokaryotes being moved around by the cell to distribute nutrients and other resources evenly. In the second clip, you can see it in its active state, swimming around. The prokaryotes are likely methanogenic archaea, producing methane as a byproduct of their metabolism. We have methanogenic archaea in our guts as well, just different ones from these.

Every year here on the prairie the shepherds move their sheep down onto our mountain prairie to stage before making the final journey to their wintering grounds from the mountains. Sadly, these beautiful livestock guardian dogs are mostly just tools and are often abandoned here. It seems like there’s always four or five that are left behind and that’s just the ones I’m hearing of. Well today I found one and here is the story 💕

Some species, like the Bethany Beach firefly, are already considered critically endangered, while the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to list the firefly as endangered for the first time.

New Zealanders are right to be concerned. This is what played out on our Manurewa streets in Auckland yesterday. This is a mass invasion, via mass immigration, flooding into our land. Amongst these Sikhs were a strong contingent flying the Khalistan flags. The Khalistan movement is a terrorist Sikh political movement, linked overseas to terrorist violence and instability. They call out on Auckland streets for Modi to be killed. Their symbols and activism are now being openly displayed here in New Zealand...with no scrutiny and no accountability. NZ Police do nothing. Our politicians are even defending them. The issue is this: 👉 Mass immigration without assimilation 👉 Foreign political conflicts imported onto our streets 👉 Terrorists living in our land unchecked & unvetted. 👉 A government asleep at the wheel New Zealand is not a dumping ground for the world’s unresolved conflicts. Almost half a million people are being paid to carry groceries upstairs for their parents or neighbors. New York is so economically destroyed under decades of Democrat rule that the biggest “industry” is literally taxpayer-funded family help… and now the unions want to jack up the costs even more. Hornbills are drawn to tall, old trees for a reason. They do not build nests and depend entirely on natural cavities and deep hollows formed over decades in towering giants to breed and raise their chicks. These trees, often hundreds of years old, have quietly sheltered generations of hornbills. They also sustain life, as hornbills and many other species feed on a variety of fruits,seeds and insects found on trees. The survival of these towering elders can determine whether future generations of hornbills endure or fade away, for they are truly the Trees of Life. My brothers and sisters, As I promised, here’s a part of that heartbreaking documentary about how parents selling their 8yr old kids to pedos pretending to be "tourists" for just $250. Please watch and see the innocence of these children. Even worse, it’s our own beach boys helping these predators. Fellow Kenyans, this is not just a coastal problem, it’s a Kenyan problem. We must condemn it loudly and demand that government institutions protect our children. If they won’t, then we must.

🐱 + 🐔 = ❤️ I am literally speechless! You truly cannot make this stuff up. I walked into the coop to check for eggs, and what do I find? A mama cat has decided that the hen house is the perfect, cozy nursery for her brand-new kittens. But the best part? Our resident hen is just standing there, looking slightly puzzled but totally unfazed, and proceeds to just... settle in and lay her egg right next to them. At first, you might think, “Wait, aren’t they supposed to be enemies?” In nature, these two wouldn’t usually be roommates. But here they are, two mothers sharing a space, sharing a moment, and showing a level of trust that is honestly beautiful. Why this matters: The Bond: There’s an unspoken understanding between them. Both are in their most vulnerable state—motherhood—and instead of conflict, they chose companionship. Coexistence: It’s a powerful reminder that "differences" are often things we are taught. These animals don't see species or "flaws"; they see a safe space and a friend. Support: If a hen and a cat can coexist and support each other's "maternal duties" in a tiny wooden box, what’s our excuse? We can choose to be threatened by what we don’t understand, or we can choose to be kind. I’m choosing kindness (and maybe getting a bigger nesting box!).

We paid for this signage. We paid for the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation to determine there are endangered and threatened species here. We paid for the DEC to determine 10 of 11 of the top grassland species of concern in all of NY live here. We paid for all of it. If we break these rules, we get fined or arrested. But if you own a foreign solar corporation, for some reason, none of this applies… including the endangered species nests and projected deaths. This is a vile level of hypocrisy I will not stand for.
