Yeah it works, but be careful about choking someone regarding your state laws. If you punch someone, even repeatedly, it's 2nd degree battery here, simple battery, misdemeanor, 10 year max. If you choke someone in my state, it's 1st degree battery, a felony, 25 year max.

What state are you in that has that law? Either way knowing positioning and how to subdue an attackers without significant damage is a big advantage in life!
