Daily Presidential Post Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum is right. When U.S. companies hire undocumented workers, profit from their labor, and then our government criminalizes the workers instead of holding the employers accountable, that is not justice. That is exploitation. People come here to work. They build our homes, prepare our food, clean our buildings, care for our families, and keep entire industries running. If America wants to have an honest conversation about immigration, then we need to stop pretending this is only about “papers.” It is about labor. It is about power. It is about human rights. It is about a system that benefits from people’s work, then punishes them for being here. No human being should be detained, abused, or killed because they were trying to survive and provide for their family. Accountability cannot stop with the worker. Compared it to any job in life, whether it's being producer, basketball player, or a construction worker. "I was just being wise about it. With any craft, if it's being a producer, a rapper, or a basketball player, tennis player, they always talk about the work and the consistency. They go from all the greats in any genre or any aspect of a craftsmanship, it's always about work. Like I said, listening to music, studying different craftsmanships, from basketball and just overall anything. "I think the days of people having a job for life are long gone, perhaps even having a job for 10 years are gone as well." This was Minister James Lawless speaking yesterday in Kildare. This government is now openly admitting they cannot and clearly will not provide ordinary working people with the secure, stable, long-term jobs needed to buy a home, raise a family, and actually plan a future. Instead of spin about “adaptability” and “lifelong learning,” they should just admit the truth: they’ve completely failed to deliver the basic economic stability that previous generations enjoyed. They’ve abandoned the ordinary Irish worker. Decades of policy failure and open-door immigration that's driving down wages for the ordinary Irish worker ensuring housing remains a pipe dream for them. This government and their corporate friendly economics have delivered nothing but precarious gig-work, anxiety, and broken dreams for young Irish people trying to build a life and now a senior Minister is normalising it and even worse trying to make it normal for you to be "portable mid career". Disgraceful.

Firefighters from Station 36 had their work cut out for them today when they spent 1.5 hours trying to locate a family cat that had been missing for 3 days in the 1800 block of Thornecrest St. The cat got into the ceiling 3 days ago but, through the use of a thermal imaging camera, Firefighters were able to determine that the cat fell down a shaft and was at the bottom of a wall near the front door. The cat was safely extricated and there will be some minor drywall repairs to be done.🐱🚒
