Due to #Musevenomics policies, especially coffee liberalization, households engaged in coffee production have significantly increased, and more Ugandans are now earning from the crop. In October 2014, President Yoweri K Museveni issued a bold directive to grow production to 20 million bags by 2020, a massive leap from the...

@KagutaMuseveni @GovUganda @GCICUganda @AndrewMwenda @DamalieOwori @MatiaK5 @rggoobi @dgalabuzi @PDMSecretariat @MKarekye @initiative_ug If the President is the one to issue directives for increased coffee production, yet he had appointed Ministers like the speaker here, who is happy to coin the jagon “Musevenomics”then we have had a problem for long!

@KagutaMuseveni @GovUganda @GCICUganda @AndrewMwenda @DamalieOwori @MatiaK5 @rggoobi @dgalabuzi @PDMSecretariat @MKarekye @initiative_ug The coffee prices are decreasing everyday so it may seem like that was not the agenda. Last year at this time coffee farmers were happy but now the price of the coffee keeps reducing. It leaves someone wondering 💭

Kabushenga’s Thoughts A Coffee Marketing Conundrum Folks: Kabushenga, have you seen the new Rwanda coffee campaign with Aston Villa FC? Me:(rushes to check on social media) Yes Folks: What do you think? Me: See below I have talked about this a lot in the last couple of weeks. I described in detail what has been done to position Uganda’s coffee in the world market. I return to it because of yet another significant step has been to take Ugandan coffee to the market. If in Brussels we put our best foot forward, in 2027 we are going to show off in Kampala. At Speke Resort on Tuesday July 14th evening everyone who is anyone in the Ugandan coffee sector turned up for the launch of the 23rd African Fine Coffees Conference & Exhibition and the 4th African Coffee Week organised by the Coffee Production Department of MAAIF 🇺🇬 and African Fine Coffees Association. It will happen between February 17-19th and bring over 1000 international coffee players. Proverbially, the mountain is coming to Mohamed. This is validation of Uganda as a coffee origin on a grand scale. Why is this important? Because it builds on the recent positioning of Uganda by MAAIF as a reliable origin of high quality coffees and consistently significant quantities. We are now the largest African exporter making US$2.5 bn in the process. MAAIF has published the geographical profiles of the different coffees produced in Uganda. This is compelling market information. And now as a sector, we also have a national brand identity. It is a mark of quality. The plan, as Hon. Desire Muhooza , Agriculture State Minister explained her speech at the launch, is to reimagine Robusta Coffee which originates from Kibaale National Park in Western Uganda. It is a forest crop as distinct from Arabica which is referred to as a garden crop. Over 80% of our coffee production and exports is robusta. Until now, it has disappeared in other people’s coffees as a blender to improve their taste because it is a premium variety. But it was deliberately undersold to make it cheap. It is why it has never found its own identity in the consumer market. That will change. At the conference we will be talking about fine robusta and how to position it to final consumers. There is another reason why I have faith in the plans. The Chairman of AFCA is Jeremy Mpalampa AKA Jeremy Mpalampa one of the finest Ugandan minds in international coffee markets who runs Kyagalanyi Coffee, a leading exporter. The organising committee is headed by Kenneth Barigye, the man who recently sold a microlot of his mountain.harvest Rwenzori Arabica Coffee for a whopping $350 per kilo. A combined effort of these guys and the MAAIF Coffee Production & Development Dept team, it will work. Let me just finish by saying that our next challenge as coffee people will be to meet demand. The market is now aware of what we have. I am sure you know that inline there are many ways to get attention. You don’t have to do what your neighbour does, just do it your own authentic way. The key is to act and finally there is action in the right direction. Take heart.

"Bullet Coffee" Absolute hype, no evidence. Bullet coffee also called ghee coffee is black coffee with added clarified butter (some people add protein supplements to it) Benefits? Nope. It just ruins the benefits of plain black coffee. This study showed that bullet coffee had no benefits over black coffee except that unfortunately, it only increased calorie intake (people, we dont want extra calories) - This study showed that consuming bullet proof coffee did nothing to your immune system. So yes, it does not boost your anything - This exhaustive review looked at all the claims of bullet proof coffe and...in particular, there were no significant improvements in cognition, alertness, or energy levels from bulletproof coffee compared to regular coffee. The impact on hunger, satiety, resting energy expenditure, and fat oxidation appeared equivocal, with effects offset by the additional calorie intake of bulletproof coffee. Meaning, bullet coffee is the Mr. Hyde version of good old plain black coffee. Also, as stated in the last part of the video, the intestine is not like "a muslin cloth with pores" and the nutrients just do not go in and out of pores in the intestine. Thats not how physiology of digestion actually work. I have no idea who the lady at the end of the video is, but she has not seen the doorstep of a school and never laid eyes upon a school biology textbook. Stick to regular black coffee minus the added sugar. It is the best. Watch your celeb idols dance. Do not take health advise from them.

Historic day in India’s quest towards energy security and energy self-sufficiency under the dynamic and firm leadership of PM Sh Narendra Modi Ji. Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Amendment Bill 2024 successfully passed in Lok Sabha today! Far-reaching amendments made in the existing legislation will further strengthen and propel India’s energy sector under the leadership of PM Modi Ji, and ensure policy stability, international arbitration, extended lease periods etc. The present global energy scenario and the hydrocarbon landscape has dramatically changed. Hence, there was a need to amend the Act to reflect current realities, national priorities, promote Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), decriminalize provisions and align India’s Exploration and Production (E&P) framework with practices of competing geographies. By virtue of the fact that we are going to rely on conventional energy for some time we need to step up our exploration and production activities. Today’s successful passage of the bill will be a constructive and positive step in this direction. Utilisation of energy is a reasonably good indicator of economic performance. Today we are consuming 5.5 Million Barrels of crude oil in a day. Just three and a half years ago this consumption was 5.0 Million Barrels. If we continue to grow at the rate at which we are, we will go upto 6.5-7.0 Million Barrels Per Day. India’s transformation to being #ViksitBharat will require a large amount of energy in all forms. Steps have been taken to enhance India’s energy exploration and production. Earlier one million sqkm area of our sedimentary basin used to be a ‘No Go’ area. As a result our import dependence was on a rise. We opened up that one million sqkm out of the 3.5 million sqkm of sedimentary basin to encourage and enhance domestic crude production. This has sent positive signals to prospective investors. 76% of total area under exploration has come under active exploration only since 2014. Kabushenga’s Thoughts Another Coffee Milestone It is now the story of my life’s current season. And we have another reason to celebrate our RugyeyoFarmLtd Coffee. But first, gratitude to you all. Last week I put out a straw poll on my socials to gauge preference for the designs of our coffee packaging. The response has been as engaged as it has been dynamic, even passionate. You didn’t just choose, you justified your preference. Aspects of the branding rationale I had not even thought about. It was rewarding to read your responses but most importantly it was humbling to see how invested you are in our Rugyeyo Coffee journey. You want us to succeed. You want to see it work. We will make it work. This engagement created clarity. Now we will make adjustments to the designs and prepare for the market. This conversation convinced us about the direction we are going to take in 2027. Our coffee will be available for sale to final consumers on a commercial scale. The plan is to craft 5 tons of our October harvest into a fine robusta for processing & packaging. And then sell it as ready to drink coffee. We should go to market with the first batch in January 2027. It will be a medium roast that can do mainly espresso but also long blacks. A chance for Ugandans to enjoy an organic home brew. There is another reason we are confident about the quality of our product and why we are barnstorming in this direction. After taking our coffee to the London & Manchester Coffee Festivals in 2025, we were invited to submit samples to the UK’s Guild of Fine Foods for scoring and rating. The evaluation focuses strictly on taste through rigorous blind tastings by a panel of over 500 culinary experts, including chefs, food critics, buyers, and writers. Products are stripped of all branding and packaging to ensure complete impartiality. Instead of numerical points, products receive a score ranging from zero to three stars. Roughly only 35% to 40% of all annual entries receive any stars at all, making it a definitive stamp of quality Rugyeyo Farm Coffee scored a star. I wish I had sent our very best beans. The sample I sent was all I had at the time, not necessarily the best. But now I know that our product is premium and properly crafted will deliver a world class coffee experience. We are ready to go. In five to ten years we will have a reason to celebrate our coffee family tradition that started in 1954.

Dangers of coffee? Once again, the Sattvic Movement has outdone itself with this utter nonsense of a video that misleads public on coffee. The Sattvic Movement is a pseudo-intellectual, pseudo-scientific, spinal-level thinking nationalistic activism from a scientifically illiterate couple, that is leveraged on peddling anti-science concepts, demonizing scientific progression, misinterpreting evidence, and misrepresenting clinical data all the while promoting ancient and primitive superstition written in the religious texts of Ayurveda which promotes culture-traditional dogmatism in healthcare. Even a grade 4 glioblastoma is not as malignant as Sattvic Movement is to India’s scientific temper. In this video, Lady Sattvic speaks about three “facts” on why coffee is dangerous. 1/ Coffee is just for energizing temporarily and then people who drink coffee become lethargic. 2/ People get physically and psychologically dependent on coffee. 3/ Coffee dehydrates and destroys the lining of the stomach and causes constipation. Her solution: Have warm herbal teas! These statements are proof that mental constipation leads to verbal diarrhea and none of these are true. Coffee does not produce a jerk and flaccid response in the nervous system, but caffeine may. In fact, coffee as a dietary supplement for health/disease is one of the most scientifically studied aspects in clinical medicine. Three cups of black coffee without milk or sugar daily have immense health benefits that you need to know about! The Sattvic Movement is just peddling a whole bunch of lies. Coffee is significantly beneficial for the liver: it reduces fatty liver disease, reduced progression of fatty liver disease, reduces risk of developing cirrhosis and reduces risk of liver cancer development. See here here and here Coffee consumption does not only reduce risk of liver cancer, but also breast and endometrial cancer in women, colorectal and prostate cancers in men, reduces risk of dying from all causes, especially metabolic diseases such as diabetes and heart diseases and reduces risk of developing diabetes type 2 and Parkinson’s disease. See here here here People do not get dependent on coffee, but caffeine. Do you know what else contains caffeine apart from coffee? Tea and chocolates. Yes. Dark chocolate contains 43g of caffeine in 100g, coffee contains 20-40g depending on preparatory methods and tea contains 11g caffeine in 100g. So, is shifting to tea the solution to prevent caffeine dependency? Nope. Avoiding caffeinated products is. What does that mean? It means that decaffeinated coffee is as good as whole coffee, because the “goodness and benefits on health” of coffee is not dependent on caffeine, but polyenol compounds in coffee. See here and here And guess what, coffee and caffeine consumption was also significantly associated with decreased risk of depression. Yes, see here: and hey also this – coffee intake was associated with lower incidence of chronic kidney disease, end-stage kidney disease and protein loss in urine. Damn. Coffee is the superhero we all need! See here - So go ahead and enjoy some raw and real/or decaff that will increase longevity, reduce heart and metabolic diseases, cancers and reduce risk of developing degenerative brain diseases. Ok, so what about herbal teas? It is a bummer. There is absolutely no evidence from clinical studies to showcase that herbal teas are useful for anything other than featuring in misleading, stupid Instagram reels. But wait, there is more on herbal teas. Herbal teas are not all that safe. Herbal teas, especially green tea extract infusions were associated with liver injury, liver failure and death or organ transplantation. The European Union warned and limited the use of green tea extracts in foods fearing liver damage among consumers. See here and here And if you look at benefits of herbal teas versus adverse events of herbal teas in published literature, you will see that adverse events feature more. Herbal teas have caused liver injury, liver failure, multiple organ failure, accelerated hypertension, paralysis, chronic liver injury, heart failure, brain strokes and brain failure and so much more in humans! See this link: Oh, by the way, coffee does not increase blood pressure. In fact, it lowers it. So do not be too miserable on that. In habitual coffee users (3-5 cups a day), coffee had benefits on blood pressure parameters. Do not believe me? See here: and about that destroying stomach lining and causing constipation – that was just bluff from the annoyingly sounding Lady Sattvic. See here But is coffee safe for all? No. Pregnant women, please avoid more than 1-2 cups a day. See here: So, what is this Sattvic Movement all about? It is all about destroying the scientific temperament of the public in India and by misleading the public, they are creating more patients for the modern medicine hospitals to treat. Are they funded by Big Pharma? Hmmm, I wonder. I am going to think that over a hot cup of black coffee. I think you should too! And don’t forget to share this information with your herbal tea lover friends!
