Nobody wants to talk about why milk tastes like nothing now. It’s not in your head. Most of it is not coming from cows on grass. It is coming from giant confinement dairies where they feed the cows the same slop every day so they pump out as much milk as possible. Then they mix it all, smash the cream so it never rises, and cook it so it can sit on a truck and a store shelf for weeks. That is why it tastes cooked and cheap instead of like actual milk. A cow only makes milk if she keeps having babies. So they take the calf away within hours. Then a lot of those babies get stuck in little plastic boxes by themselves for weeks. That is standard practice today. They told us factory farming would make food cheaper. It did not. The mega farms produce milk for less. Then the processors, packagers, and grocery chains take their cut, and you still pay more at the store. Farmers get squeezed. You get worse milk. The calves sit in boxes. Everybody in the middle still makes money. This is the food system they built and then told us was “progress.” Giant monopolies running lower-quality, higher-profit operations. If you want milk that actually tastes like milk, buy local. Cream on top. Cows on grass. Not the sad white stuff they sell in the big stores.

This is football and what matters most in this world, family — A Cape Verde player cries with his wife and son after the match vs Argentina. He shouldn't cry. They gave it to the champs. Yeah the cinderella story ended, but people thought it'd end WAY sooner. Kudos to Cabo Verde, their run was legendary and we will never forget. Unfortunately, we won't see them again in 2030. No need for tears. They gave the reigning champions a run for their money. They didn’t win the Cup or the game but they won the respect of the World. They fielded the oldest team in the tournament, besides the legal problems with Mendes, 9 or more of them will retire before 2030. I'm not saying new talent can't impress, I'm just saying it's unlikely. They maximised the use of foreign born players. So, hopefully they will be back in the world cup again. They gave a fantastic account of themselves.

Not necessarily that they aren't loyal to the party, but accountability must be fixed about this issue

Did you know that babies cry with an accent? This week I’ll be focusing on language acquisition during infancy. Yesterday we talked about how newborns enter the world already recognizing the distinct tones of their mothers’ voices, as well as the rhythms and patterns of what will become their native language. And that recognition is not only receptive (the language we hear and understand), but expressive (the language we speak). Which leads us to crying with accent. A study that compared the cries of French and German infants identified distinct patterns their cries - measured as early as the day after their births - that mirror the unique melodies (or prosody) of their native languages. The French infants ended their cries with a lilt that mirrored French, while German infants began their cries with intensity then dropped off at the end, mirroring the vocalizations of their German parents. It’s still more evidence that some basic forms of language learning are influenced by children’s experience (learning) in utero. When it comes to our earliest vocalizations, newborns rely heavily on cries - which often tend to be a bit screechier than they will become in time - alongside gurgles, grunts and squeaks (like those shown in the video here.) it has always been hard for me to really think about the Holocaust I can’t finish books or films devoted to it. I walked out of Schindler’s List I think of my family, and everything Nazis did to them. Then they use nefarious tactics to skim off the top, all along the way.
