Isn's this just the sweetest friendship?! 🥹 Lionel the cow and Amos the pig were rescued together from a horrific cruelty case, and had formed a bond through their shared trauma. ❤️🩹 To this day they are still the best of friends, and do everything together!! 🐷🐮 Pigs, cows, sheep, all farmed animals have the capacity to form deep, lifelong bonds with their own or even other species, including humans. 🤗 They deserve to be acknowledged and respected for the sentient beings that they are. Cows produce milk for the same reason all mammals do, to nourish their babies. Yet calves are often taken from their mothers shortly after birth, leaving both in distress and longing. 😰 A cow’s body is pushed to give around 70 pounds of milk every day, something only possible through repeated pregnancies. Many mothers endure this cycle three or four times before their bodies can no longer keep up. Although cows can live more than 20 years, many only survive a few. 💔 Male calves are frequently taken away and killed while young.
