In the books, it wasn't a fight. Dumbledore was pinning Bellatrix, protecting Harry and pushing Voldemort to the point the Dark Lord resorted on the defense. And Dumbledore wasn't even going for the kill, he was just stalling so the Minister would see him.

And mind you, Dumbledore was only on the defense. If you really wanted to, he would’ve had Voldemort on his knees.
