Dumpster Divers in the Soviet Union would save x-ray films to make bootleg records of banned music. They called it Bone Music and this act of rebellion produced over a million records. I have 500+ (getting more). Quality is not great but I also some English spoke word stuff.

incredibly specific french house records that only I have memory of, pt. 5 this is a bootleg of the iconic You Are My High except it's not really a bootleg turns out it actually got released in 2002 along with other remixes, they just officially called it "The Bootleg Version"

“The word “layover” can mean a stop between destinations, but to me, it’s expressing that my life is not a straight path. I want to say: I can make this kind of music, but I also like many other styles. [..] I genuinely love music with all my heart, and Layover is that representation of me”

“I left Atlantic Records because they weren’t promoting my music enough. When I heard Don Jazzy spent $5M promoting Rema’s ‘Calm Down,’ I was going crazy. That’s a lot of money! But when I spoke to people in the industry, they said it wasn’t a lot.” —Fave

A SURFACE LEVEL LISTENER IS NOT MY TYPE OF AUDIENCE-PUSHA T This statement is what I always try to tell rap fans who talk 1.) popularity 2.) record sales 3.) trends 4.) hit records/radio play Some rappers actually make rap music That’s is not for you.. They focus on writing metaphors subject matter rhyme schemes Story telling etc to relate to a audience That listens to rap music for those elements first A24 makes films for people that enjoy Great films and know what a good film is Dialogue/cinematography/esoteric writing etc If they wanted to make blockbuster films They would focus on fans that want Marvel and DC etc

Looper is a great film. Full stop. Not only is this one of the last great performances from Bruce Willis, this is one of the best science fiction films of the century. I said it and I stand by it. I also thought JGL’s career would take off from this moment but it never happened.

ROSALÍA explained why her new album doesn’t have a more obvious sound, like R&B or rock. “It’s just that, for me, I make music, um, also thinking about what I would like to hear. And I really love classical music, and I thought, maybe there isn’t as much presence of that in my… uh, not as much presence of that kind of music around me as there was when I was in college studying music. So I was like, ‘Hm, I want to, you know, make the effort to listen to more classical music, and why not make an album inspired by that and highlight how amazing this tradition is?’ But yeah, I think every album is an excuse to, um, get closer to things I don’t know, to things I feel I don’t know enough about yet.”

Kpop idols have a billion things to do. this means it's rare they have a say on their music. I'm glad Yunjin and the rest of LE SSERAFIM have varying degrees of involvement. I PRAY FOR MORE!!! I personally connect more to the songs they wrote and produced. Irony included!!

👤You are so careful with your solo music. You have a lot of songs that you make, and then you don’t put out or you delete. What did it mean to get Layover out into the world? 🧸Layover came to me at a time when I felt the need to look back on my journey so far as V of BTS. The word "layover" can mean a stop between destinations, but to me, it’s expressing that my life is not a straight path. I want to say: I can make this kind of music, but I also like many other styles. I love jazz, classical music, and even more alternative music, so I wanted to share that with ARMY and our listeners. I genuinely love music with all my heart, and Layover is that representation of me. 🧸If layover hadn't come out, I think V, as an artist, would have been stuck as a hardcore dancer and singer, unable to share all the different vibrant colours within. I wanted to explore one of those colors a bit more, so I crafted that album with a lot of care.

Washington Post and the AP claiming that Uyghur music is being banned. Funny because the song they mention, Besh Pede, is one i listened to the other day in Xinjiang. I also just went to a place called a "Wei Bar" the other day which is almost exclusively Uyghur music, that all Uyghur locals go to. No music ban at all here! The irony is that after 9/11, US radio groups had a "banned" list of insensitive or politically risky music. And also in 1989, the FBI tried to ban a record label putting out N.W.A.’s “Fuck the Police,” song.

How to make electronic dance music in 1990 with your Commodore Amiga 500. Interesting video. Using an Amiga 500, Stereo Master and handful of $1 records from a 1990 Sunday market you could make studio quality dance-floor banger. cTrix is a musician, developer and promoter of music created with the home computers of the 80’s and 90’s. He is best known for his live energetic performances at chip shows and indie festivals world-wide.

“I was born into royalty. But they made me to be the King of world music. I don’t want to be on the throne. I love to play music. And the music I am playing now is a piece of music being taken from different shrines. The name given to it was Juju music, Yoruba music, because they have the tambourine that used to sound. You throw it, I throw it. When you play it, I throw it to you.” — King Sunny Ade explains the roots of his music and how the name “Juju music” came to be associated with the sound he plays.
