Playing a practice round for @OlympicGolf this is Alejandro Tosti ( video courtesy of Brad Faxon ) who is just 5’6” tall and is currently in the top 10 in driving distance on the PGA Tour. It is tough to be precise about the top 10 P4P and I4I longest players of all time as there isn’t the data needed to be exact but I don’t think it would be a stretch to put Tosti in the top 10 all time in either I4I or P4P driving distance. (note: “players” meaning played golf at the highest level, otherwise this title will always belong to Jamie Sadlowski ) My top 10 in no particular order: Gene Sarazen Gary Player Ian Woosnam Rory Mcilroy Ben Hogan Bobby Jones Tom Watson Alejandro Tosti Min Woo Lee Justin Thomas *There is a bias towards more recent players because the data is better and because golf courses are increasingly being setup to encourage players to swing for the fences and the equipment, being more forgiving, further encourages this generation of players to swing all out. Still though there is much to learn from these moves.

Sorry if I did not answer many of you. I’ve never been a fan of the online eulogy. The immediate fallout is always about loved ones. And we should leave those closest be. And then I realised of course I was just incredibly upset, and a large digital outpouring is inevitable and testament to his character. My devastation came from having to watch it all unfold. From spending years trying to help and actually getting him close to a point where he almost had a normal life again - then being powerless to stop him doing things he should not have. Powerless in every sense as it also meant it sometimes not being my place to say anything. In the end watching some of the evil shits around enable the worst of it was too much for me, I had to step back it was too painful to watch. I told my mate who was filling in for me looking after him “ah I just need some space from it all, I’ll be back with him after Christmas” and then suddenly there was no Christmas. And it turned out no one was to blame, and I immediately looked to blame myself most of all, fearing the worst. But it was a simple accident in the end. A bolt out of the blue. So if you are ever estranged or overwhelmed by friends and family and think it will all be OK one day - DON’T put it off. Reach out now. Grab that person and hold them tight. There may not be a tomorrow. You might not be around to see them off. There may not be the grand luxury of time available you thought there was. He died in the arms of his beloved son, and that is a measure of comfort, if a passing can ever have any. He was my mentor, my friend and my glad burden. And there was nothing I would not do for him.

06:00 SUNDAY, MEXICO CITY 🇲🇽⚽️ I’m typing this in bed from my hotel in the of the Zona Rosa - the very heart of busiest part of town and 200m from the Monumento a la Independencia (Angel of Independence) where over a million people danced and celebrated last time Mexico won. (But near the British Embassy: see map.) The was a carnival going on ALL NIGHT. It’s crazy. Packed streets, dancing, souvenir sellers, football merch, street food, as as lightening flickers over the sky. It’s sensory overload. Like out of a film. Almost too much to take in. A feeling of friendliness prevails, and England shirted fans can be seen here and there (and those without a shirt still stand out). I didn’t take many photos last night but loved the random dancing I caught from the taxi to the hotel. The day has stated cool and gray. I have no doubt it will finish the complete opposite. Will try to share content though the day to bring you a flavour of this historic day. Cheers, Jon

Hope will always have a home with us. As I hinted at this morning, I got a sense from the property manager that this tear down ranch house may not be available as a rental for much longer… we could try to buy the lot but the process is long and complicated…and there would be no house standing while it all played out. And we’d be competing against a bunch of local developers. We went in another direction. To be honest this is a plan/project we’ve been working on for the last six months. I’ll cut to the chase. We bought a house under construction four doors down. It’s already part of Hope and the herd’s habitat so the adjustment should be fairly smooth. If you look at the first photo shot from the top floor of our new house you can see our small ranch rental between the blue house and light brown one. We’re moving in. Some of our deer friends have already joined us. See short video shot from our new rear deck.

Happy new year. This is the cover of my new EP called Jigi Jigi Volume 1. It was designed by my younger brother who’s an incredible designer and mastermind at almost anything creative. “Jigi Jigi” doesn’t really have a meaning but it pretty much means “move” “Shake” “dance” and it’s a new project series I’m starting this year It’s a project focused on fusing sounds across the African, Caribbean and Latin continents with house and African elements as the base for the sound. There will be riddims, songs and instrumentals that would be dropping every month and a half with a lot of dope visual content and a short doc series about the various cultures and sounds in exploring As well as the process of putting the projects together. The first record is called “Roots” which comes out this Friday. You can presave the EP now as well. Hope you can join me on this journey and enjoying this heavy flood of music this year. Much love

"The vet looked at me and said, 'It might be time to think about saying goodbye.'" Max stopped eating four days ago. Stopped getting up. I'd already started preparing myself. Then Buddy did something I will never forget. He climbed up on that exam table — something he's NEVER allowed to do — and he wouldn't stop pressing his face against Max's. The vet tech tried to gently move him away. Buddy wouldn't budge. And then, for the first time in four days — Max lifted his head. The vet just stood there. Didn't say a word. We're not out of the woods. The vet wants to run more tests tomorrow. But tonight, Max ate three bites of food. Tonight, Max is still here. I don't know what tomorrow holds. But I know I watched a Labrador refuse to let his best friend give up. If you believe dogs fight for each other the way they fight for us — drop a ❤️ for Max and Buddy tonight.
