Grip a club in your lead hand. Observe how twisting your forearm changes the angle of the face. This is largely what controls where your ball flies. Small differences in this angle lead to huge changes in shot direction. This precision is not being trained in the gym with “golf exercises”. Real Club Valderrama hosted its first event on the LIV Golf League in 2023 and has been a staple on the schedule since. The GM, Javier Reviriego, says they are very happy with their partnership and they will be looking to renew their contract when it’s up next season. Speaking to Flushing It Golf, Javier said: “We're very happy. I mean, for us, the event has been great, giving us a lot of visibility. “The best thing is to have these great players here. I mean, these players, we would have never dreamed of having them here in a DP World Tour event. That's a fact. “And we couldn't dream of bringing a PGA Tour event to Spain because I don't think that was ever going to happen either. So, we wanted this quality of players, and there was no choice, really.” LIV Golf Andalucía is just 5 weeks away and the build out is currently going up all over the course, with a huge hospitality area on the bank behind the 17th green striking an imposing presence. Advertising boards promoting the event greet arrivals at Gibraltar Airport and they are in the process of thickening the rough to make the course as challenging as ever. Javier says he has spoken to league executives who assure him it’s business as usual and Valderrama are even considering some renovations to the golf course to help improve the venue for future years. You get to this tee shot. Be honest, where is your drive going? 😂 The Players Championship and TPC Sawgrass is getting a lot of attention for the new tree on hole 6. It’s a restoration of a tree from Pete Dye’s original design. Players will have to flight their drives, it will cause lots of tension and I’m guessing at least one player hits the tree! I’m on board. The players need tested and this is a unique way to do it. You wouldn’t want it all the time, but for one of golf’s biggest tests, let’s test them!

Foreign players have been complaining that their mental comfort is getting disturbed, as Pakistani players focus more on religious activities than cricket. He could have gone to the dressing room and offered Namaz privately, but instead chose to do it in front of foreign players. Pakistan has turned the PSL into a hub of religious activities.

Bryson DeChambeau’s next event after LIV Golf Andalucia is the US Open, where he’ll attempt to win his 3rd gold medal. He spoke to Flushing It Golf at Valderrama about his preparation ahead of Shinnecock Hills and whether he feels any pressure after missing the last 2 cuts in majors: “Well, Valderrama is a ball striker's golf course. So you have to control your golf ball and hit the right shots under the gun with a lot of wind out here. It really is a great ball strikers paradise. The same as, you know, in the US Open. I think this is a great test.” Bryson shot rounds of 70, 71, 71 and 70 to finish T11 at Valderrama. Does he feel any pressure to perform after missing the cut at the Masters and the PGA Championship? “No. To be honest, missed cuts are gonna happen. I might miss all 4 of them in majors this year. That's just golf. Like, I’m playing great. I just haven't shown up when it mattered most. But I've played well out here on LIV, and I’m working on my golf swing really hard, and, I feel like it's in a really solid place. It's very close to some of my best golf ever. “Last week (in Korea) I had a great opportunity to win for the third time this year and didn't close the door. And that's just more learning, you know, if I had a little bit more knowledge of what to do in the golf swing, to get the ball to go straight in a few scenarios. I could have taken that championship down too. “So, I feel like I'm actually playing the most consistent I've ever played on LIV, which is great. And I think it's attributed to the switch to four rounds. Hexagons and Octagons Those who follow football and coaching will be well aware that there are trends that emerge and become the great break through in coaching, only to vanish quite quickly. A few stick around and become a staple. Such as the rondo, or the 4v4+4 Guardiola rondo variation. One that did not stick around in the coaching collective consciousness that possible should have was Thomas Tuchel’s use of hexagonal and octagonal playing areas in training sessions. Tuchel explained that cutting off the corners and angling the pitch forced “sharp diagonal” passes that would help break the press. The positioning of players outside the hexagon/octagon or players close to the edges will be manipulated into an open body shape by the angles of the pitch. Players are impacted by environmental constraints and embodied cognition, where the geography of the playing area influences their actions. This influence spreads to the creation of triangles and diamonds within the playing area due to the “funnel” like nature of the playing area. We can use the cut outside angles by placing bounce or target players on the exterior, influencing the movement and organisation internally. The inside players will not have to move wide as those areas are occupied. The internal players will seek to create passing angles using the positioning of the outside players and their internal team mates. The diamonds and triangles will appear. If we leave the spaces on the outside empty players can move to fill the spaces. These act as free spaces to receive from the goalkeeper or open spaces for attackers to overlap into, encouraging attacking combination play and crosses. A different way of using the space is to remove goals and goalkeepers from the ends and place bounce/target players on the outside. Players now can combine with the outside players, when they do so they are then free to finish into the outside goals. The condition can be extended to combining with the target player in the opposite side of the pitch before scoring, adding an element of switching play. The hexagon and octagon are versatile spaces that help to replicate aspects of the game. By funneling the spaces we impact players body shape, ability to play forward quickly, team shape (or small group shapes), players cutting in, defending centrally, the types of combination used and the angles of line breaking pass (diagonals). The angles are hugely significant for teams that value combinations and possession football, Straight passes and receiving angles are much easier to intercept and carry high risks for being counter attacked. Scottie Scheffler spoke ahead of the Cadillac Championship about what it would mean if he were to complete the Career Grand Slam at the US Open in a few weeks: “Yeah, I would love to be able to win the US Open. YOUTH ZONE Having coached youth for a while now, playing Zone is the ultimate cheat code. Players can’t pass far enough or shoot from distance enough to effectively beat a zone. To me, it’s a waste of time playing against a zone in youth basketball. Although I do understand some coaches doing it bc it is easier to put in. All these fruits are being produced in Kaduna. The stickers on the apples are just there to give the impression that they are imported. Apples are currently in season and are being sold in bulk and hawked in wheelbarrows. That's how abundant and affordable they are here. The video showing a small grapevine in a backyard is just a setup to provide shade for goats and chickens to retire to after a long day of grazing, but the farmers have a larger plantations in the farming area. The last video is a guava field occupying about 2.5 hectares where 3m naira worth of guavas are being sold WEEKLY once the rain starts until tye end of the rainy season. This is because the farmers there pay little attention to irrigation. For the grapes, I couldn't get a picture of them being hawked in wheelbarrows as they are currently out of season but would be back for a second harvest in the next two months. I came across a post where someone mentioned buying grapes from a wheelbarrow vendor, and it sounds like a myth to a food number of the people in the south... For those who were in my DM asking for sources to buy grapes in large quantities in the north, just get your cash ready, as the 2nd harvest season will soon be,in the next two months. Nigeria is blessed.
