Most underrated aspect of hitting..? 👀 BAT-TO-BALL SKILLS. Being able to control the barrel and square up the center of the baseball is a skill that most people overlook. The game has gotten so focused on the long ball that this stat has gone way down across baseball in general. Just like creating a good bat path that keeps us in the hitting zone for a long time, squaring up the baseball is just as important. It gives us more room for error if we miss high or low as the ball starts to move. So when you’re in the cage working off the tee, make sure your focus is on squaring up the center of the ball every single time. #baseball #sweetspot #skills #baseballhitting #batting #mlb #baseballfan

Hitters: Keep your hands above the baseball & train to hit it through the wall, not over it. Backspin the ball to the back of the cage. The feel is sometimes not the real. Are you going to listen to a battle tested HOF'er or a self-proclaimed guru? The choice is yours. Seems like a pretty easy decision to me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

He doesn’t let one bad at-bat become two. Elite hitters don’t avoid failure, they recover from it faster than everyone else. Here are some tips that have worked for our hitters: 1️⃣ Reset Step out. Breathe. Slow the game down. One breath in. One breath out. Flush it. 2️⃣ Refocus Pick a focal point. The logo on your bat. The foul pole. Focus on it. Take a deep breath. Get back to the present. 3️⃣ Visualize See your best swing. Drive a double in to the gap in your mind. Everything happens twice. Once in your mind, once on the field. 4️⃣ Prepare Confidence isn’t magic. It’s built in practice. Trust your training. 5️⃣ Believe You have to believe you’re one swing away, because you are. Do the work. Have a system for when you aren’t feeling your best. Prepare relentlessly. Baseball is a game of failure. The players who go the furthest aren’t the ones who never struggle. Tee on the inside half. Hit it back up the middle. I’d do this drill a lot to groom my bat path to be short & inside the baseball. If you can consistently be inside the baseball it will allow you to trust your self to let the baseball travel deep towards the plate before you make a decision to swing. When you can let the ball travel deeper to make a decision to swing you swing at better pitches…. When you swing at better pitches & track the ball longer you square up more baseballs…. Square up more baseballs get more hits! Hitters University

Tee challenge. Hit 15 balls off the tee down the middle. If I pull the ball or hit the top of the cage, it’s 1 burpee. Great tee work is very important if you want to be a consistent hitter. Every swing should be intentional. Now, I know some of the hits that didn’t count were good hits but I still wanted to focus on line drives only! I may or may not have miscounted how many I hit and how many burpees 🫣 16 balls hit, 10 burpees is the final tally.

I practice draw the same form, i define the goal, the limits and i focus on get that. -Use the whole arm to draw not only the wrist -Focus on force the arm to follow the dots -Set the goal in mind on do it faster you can and do it in one stroke *Repeat the stroke three times!

STOP trying to rotate from the hips! Instead, focus on how your lead leg is moving through the downswing & follow through & you might just find you get the lower body rotation as a result! The hips DO rotate, but not from trying to rotate them... 👇👇👇
