Love this. You using grid snapping on this still to reduce shimmer? I'm working on something similar, similar style, but I started with ocean waves, sailing and weather (calm, choppy, hurricane) in babylon.js.

yeah, using grid snapping and various shader and timing tricks but still difficult to reduce shimmer, it's a never-ending process

100%! I created an app just for pixel shimmer experimentation. Testing various reduction methods, from multi-cam projection to grid locking/timing etc. For a true 3d environment with free-cam, it's fascinating problem to try and solve. Paused that to work on water and weather shaders right now, and a custom world/game editor. Completely understand the never-ending'ness of it though! Let me know if you'd be open to collabs in the future. Attached a brief screen grab vid example.
