It’s gon be replies from people behind hidden profile pictures who arent black saying it’s a bad take too lmaoooo

Grew up listening to Earl and honestly he is very surface level when he talks a lot of times. You would think he would be more dense but he talks like the average Xbox live junkie who drinks Mountain Dew all day

😁

awful take, i loved Bone Thugs, and i couldnt understand half the words they were saying. most mumble rap sounds like low effort slop, knowing the lyrics wont change that fact

A lot of shi sounds like “mumble rap” 2 yall cause yall don’t understand the regional dialects. Same shi yall be calling mumble rap does have good songwriting but yall wouldn’t hear it cause you’re already judging

I like Earl’s music and mumble rap but this is a bad take. If sm1 wants to listen to rap, a genre reliant on lyrics and wordplay, it’s plausible that ppl may be averse to a subgenre/style where you can barely hear any of it. Most likely an age and exposure thing, race is pushing

It’s easy. If you wanna understand “mumble rap” look up the lyrics and read them as you listen to the song. As simple as that. This goes for any song, if they rap too fast, mumble, if everything is too loud, etc. do that instead of complaining.

Mumble rap and the nigga be crystal clear the entire song lmaooo

Normally I don't like mumble rap but after listening to this beautiful piece I was brought instantly to tears, actual chills down my spine.

Ok but can they not mumble when it comes to normal society things like ordering food or calling 911?

Mumble rap often breeds degeneracy. Not good for youth at all which is ironically the primary audience.

nah this aint it

earl picks trash beats. sounds like a modem connecting to the internet in 1997.

Bad take. The rapper's one job involves being understood. If you want to only be understood by an in-group then that's an artistic choice. But even if your listener base is degenerate gremlins your job still is to be understood. So you make the artistsic choice to rap in gremlin slang.

Bro at that point your not listening to lyrics your listening to the cadence…. Idk about yall but I actually want the artist to ENUNCIATE the words, so I can actually use my critical thinking skills to connect deeper. Not just “RYTHYM GOOD!🥴” “BEAT GOOD!🥴” “MUSIC GOOD!🥴”

this how i feel when i use aave around others and they look at me like im stupid

To not make people adjust to retarded untalented people whom call themselves “artist” while I professionally have to EQ their vocal then soften it up sounding like a screaming bitch as you force these kids to think it’s “hip hop” openly ruining great music. Terrible take

Earl is a fuckin retard

Its literally their job for people to understand it. If not its just instrumental music with nonsense over it . Its not racist to point out that “ mumble rap “ is garbage and has been a net negative on the world. Go listen to designer say panda over and over

@___Colb___ Guru was a monotone rapper. AND one of the greatest MC’s of all time. Either you have bars; or you don’t. Either you have a message that resonates; or you don’t. Either you move the people; or you don’t. All that other s**t is semantics💯

Why do we even pay them attention when they would never be able to talk music with us?

Annunciation is racist. Got it. 🙋🏽♂️

Pulling the race card is so gay.

where did i ever complain about mumble rap 😭

Why is everything racist to a west coast fools 😂

Yall not listening to the right rappers plenty of them have good punchlines n wordplay or maybe yall listening to the right ppl but not truly listening I broke down a lil Yachty song to my family back in like 2020 n they were like “omg Ian even hear det”

Earl is a tether

Dumbest take

Bro can barely fucking talk

yes bro if someone doesn't like a genre it's because they're racist this is such victim shit lol

The irony of using Earl Sweatshirt to agree with the slander of monotone rappers over drumless beats.

crazy to reply with the king of the monotone rappers

If you’re putting out a project and the flow feels monotonous from one song to another (like the last Earl album) that’s on you as the artist, it’s not a flaw of the audience

I dont understand half of what outkast say but their music is great but i look it up or relisten. 99% of mumble rap sounds the same and has close to zero lyrical depth. Earl has a point about the racism and aspiring to learn but thats not the why i dislike mumble rap.
