EASTERN PROMISES [2007] Directed by David Cronenberg Mortensen and Watts are spectacular together in this film. What I love most about the film is how Cronenberg lets us make our own assumptions about Mortensen's character, and then shows how wrong we were to assume.

Eastern Promises is cinema done right. When I tell you this is proper cinema, I mean it. David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen are as real as they come. They combine for an incredibly violent yet incredibly emotional film. This movie means everything to me. A reason I love cinema.

John Bernthal sat down with GQ Magazine to discuss the biggest roles of his career & his insights on the 2014 war film Fury were the most interesting. The man who directed this film, David Ayer, is a US Navy veteran. I honestly didn’t know that until listening to Bernthal talk about the process of making the film. I also didn’t realize what it took to make this film & how close each actor got given they were all stuck in a tank together. Bernthal’s interview makes me appreciate a film I already love even more.

A History of Violence is one of the films I included below in my earlier tweet about Viggo Mortensen & while Viggo didn’t receive any recognition from The Academy here, at least William Hurt got a nomination. David Cronenberg & Mortensen have a short-hand together that allows for brilliant filmmaking like this to take place. The story about a man trying to out-run his violent, messy past, Mortensen loses himself in this film. This is mandatory viewing if you’re serious about Cinema.

I first met David Jolly when we served together in Congress. We were part of a small bipartisan group of Floridians who met regularly to talk about how we could work together for our state. That mattered then, and it matters even more now. What I came to know about David is simple: he is a good human being. That should matter in leadership. Decency, honesty, and care for others are not Democratic traits or Republican traits. They are human traits. And that is the kind of leader I believe Florida needs.

I don't care what anyone say this is one of the greatest music videos/ film I have ever seen next you Kanye west Runaway music video film and childish Gambino Because the Internet short film "clapping for the wrong reasons". People tend to look for how the music sounds and what it's about but forget to actually feel it. And Dijon is probably the most underrated artist of our time at this moment, and is not talked about enough. His performance in this album, and his video is the definition of a music artist. I don't even want to debate about it just watch this video from the beginning to the end.

🎬 I strongly encourage you to watch A House of Dynamite. This is a sobering, well-made film that realistically shows how quickly a nuclear crisis could unfold and how little margin for error the world truly has. Callista and I were stunned by its power and clarity. It leaves you asking the most important questions: What is our strategy for the future? How does humanity survive its own weapons? Are we living in a house built of dynamite? This movie is entertaining, serious, and deeply thought-provoking. I urge you to take the time to watch it and reflect on what must be done to preserve civilization itself.
