Ashley K, Ashley H, Ashley in billing. Usually though, it’s generally already established by some sort of nickname, one likes to go by Ash or whatever. If I am giving someone a description are you asking if I’ve ever used the term black- yes I have. It’s not used in hate or derogatory terms. It’s like using blonde Ashley or the Ashley with the long curly black hair. Our PA department has a wonderful woman- Rita but it’s a big department so if I have to send someone there to Rita- because Rita knows everything and everyone and can fix any problem- I tell them to look for the really beautiful, regal black woman- there’s only one and she is just a queen. Just so beautifully soft spoken and cultured. It’s not a critique or a racist comment- it’s a description and honestly- I’m jealous because I’m sure my description is the old cranky white lady bossing everyone around- I’m the provider and I things running like greased lightening for my patients so get amazing care. 🤣

That is actually a very interesting question. And it made me think… I only referred to Black people as being black when they make black being essential issue of their life. Just like with gays and lesbians. If your whole focus is on being gay or lesbian, I’m going to start thinking you as just a gay or lesbian person. If your whole focus is on being black, then I’m going to refer you as a black person.But if you’re just a normal human being, I will refer to you as a normal human being.

Well for one.. I don’t refer to a skin color of a person.. why do you need to call someone a color that’s just stupid.
