ECG From Scratch #29: Axis Deviation in Seconds You don't always need to calculate the exact QRS axis. For beginners, start with one simple question: (Is the QRS axis normal, leftward, or rightward?) ➡️ You can often answer this by looking at just Lead I and Lead II. The...

I'm launching an urgent fundraiser to support engineering equipment for our frontline efforts, and I need your help. Please donate, like, share, and comment—every bit of support is crucial. You can find the donation link at the end of this message. The situation on the front lines is incredibly challenging. Errors by political and military leaders, combined with slow support from the West, have led to significant losses in both territory and lives in the Pokrovsk axis. While we can't always change the decisions made by our leaders, we can make a real difference by providing our soldiers with essential engineering equipment. For instance, I personally have reservations about the operation in Kursk for my own reasons. However, I am fully committed to doing everything I can to save Ukrainian lives during this operation. That’s why one of Liberty Ukraine Foundation 🇺🇸🇺🇦’s excavators is already at work at the new positions on that axis. Our efforts to save soldiers' lives should remain focused regardless of individual opinions on tactical or strategic decisions made by our Ukrainian leadership. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Liberty Ukraine Foundation 🇺🇸🇺🇦, we have already transferred or are in the process of transferring over 8 excavators. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with engineering, infantry, and artillery units reporting that this equipment is saving many lives. On both the Kursk and Pokrovsk axes, the front lines are constantly shifting, which makes the need for excavating equipment even more critical. This equipment allows our forces to adapt quickly and operate more effectively. Our goal is to raise 🎯 $110,000. I know this is a substantial amount, but we've successfully raised even more in the past, and this equipment is making a significant impact right now. donation link 🔗 Thank you for your support.

I think I've stumbled onto the future of building startups. It wasn't supposed to happen this way. It's 2 AM. I'm editing a podcast, questioning every life decision that led me here. I've already burned through hundreds of thousands on this thing since 2021. Zero monetization. Just burning cash. My business partner's probably thinking I've lost it. We're juggling 6 businesses, and here I am, playing wannabe Joe Rogan. Then it hit me. Not during the podcast. In the darn comments section. I start sorting comments by "contains question" using this AI creator tool called VidIQ. "How do you validate ideas?" "What tools do you use?" "Can you dive deeper on XYZ topic?" These questions keep popping up. Over and over. That's when the lightbulb went off. What if I could turn this into a lead magnet machine? Find questions. Answer them with free stuff. Rinse. Repeat. I team up with Design Scientist to crank out 2 lead magnets a month. (Tried doing it myself first. But it was hard lol) We start pumping out things like "6 Tools I Use to Find Startup Ideas." Suddenly, I'm drowning in subscribers. 10,000 to 20,000 a month. On autopilot. Now, you're probably thinking, "Cool story, bro. But how's this a big idea?" Clarity of what to build is probably one of the most valuable ways to build products people want. You have to understand a niche's problem better than they even know them. Problem: what's the roadblock keeping founders stuck? Segment: group these founders by their specific obstacles. Product: build the bridge that gets them over their hurdle. I use ConvertKit like a scalpel, dissecting these segments. Not by age or location. By the problems they're desperate to solve. Suddenly, I'm staring at a treasure map of founder pain points. And that's when you can build startups to solve their problems. Instead of being a lead factory, you become a startup factory. You use tools like v0/replit/cursor to prototype like a madman. And it makes your life less stressful as a founder. Because you know people are lined up to buy the products. I'm so convinced this is the future of startup building, I've bet $1M+ of my own cash on it. Building startups to solve people's problems. And cool part is this blueprint can be replicated in any niche. The best SaaS ideas aren't in some Silicon Valley incubator. They're hiding in your "free" content. Think of it like this (Isenberg's formula?): (Engaged Audience) x (Targeted Lead Magnets) x (Problem-Centric Segmentation) = Product-Market Fit on Demand Here's the step-by-step: 1. Use AI/software to categorize every single audience interaction by problem type. Build a heat map of pain points. 2. Create ultra-specific lead magnets for each major problem cluster. Think "5-Step Framework for Validating SaaS Ideas" not "Generic Startup Guide". I also use free communities as lead magnets. 3. Forget demographics. Segment by the problem they're trying to solve. Use ConvertKit to build dynamic segments that would make Zuck jealous. 4. Use AI to build rapid prototypes for top problem clusters. Test with your segmented lists for instant feedback. Your next cash-flowing business is probably stuck in a comment somewhere, just waiting for you to notice it. I accidentally built a startup factory at 2am. Happy I did. Sharing in case this is useful to anyone out there. The future of startups: 1. Be a content factory 2. Be a lead factory 3. Be a startup factory

🚨 ITALY IS ABOUT TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY FROM A FULL-SCALE NUCLEAR REACTOR THAT HAS ZERO NUCLEAR FUEL INSIDE IT. At the ENEA Brasimone research center, Newcleo has installed a 155-ton reactor vessel filled with molten lead. Instead of uranium, it uses electric heaters to simulate the heat from fission. The lead will circulate, transfer heat to a steam generator, and spin a real turbine to produce electricity. This is not a small lab experiment. The vessel is nearly the same size as the commercial 200 MW lead-cooled reactor Newcleo eventually wants to sell. Why this matters: • It’s one of the most complete non-nuclear demonstrations of a next-generation reactor ever attempted • By proving the molten lead cooling system, heat exchangers, and power conversion loop work at scale before introducing nuclear fuel, Newcleo is trying to de-risk the hardest and most expensive parts of advanced nuclear development • Lead-cooled fast reactors can operate at atmospheric pressure with high thermal margins and natural circulation decay heat removal • The company has ambitious plans, including partnerships in the US (with Oklo) to use surplus weapons plutonium as fuel The deeper implication: Traditional nuclear development is extremely slow and expensive because you have to deal with radiation, fuel, and regulatory scrutiny from day one. Newcleo’s approach flips this: prove the entire non-nuclear “machine” works first at near-commercial scale, then add the nuclear part later. If successful, this could meaningfully shorten development timelines and reduce technical risk for lead-cooled reactors. It’s still early the real fueled reactor isn’t expected until the early 2030s but this is one of the more serious and well-funded attempts to make a new type of advanced nuclear a commercial reality. How important do you think non-nuclear full-scale testing like this will be for accelerating advanced reactor deployment? Follow for more frontier nuclear technology and next-generation reactor development.

Why Resuscitate Before Intubation? Optimizing Physiology The principle of "resuscitate before you intubate" is a critical aspect of patient management in pre hospital, intensive care unit (ICU) or emergency department (ED). Let's delve into why this practice is so integral to the process of patient care. 1️⃣ Mitigating Peri-intubation Hypoxia: During the process of intubation, patients typically experience a period of apnea, where they do not breathe. This interruption in oxygen flow can cause a rapid decrease in oxygen levels (desaturation), particularly in critically ill patients who have low oxygen reserves to begin with. Pre-oxygenation, typically done with high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) or non-invasive ventilation (NIV), can create an oxygen reservoir in the lungs and increase the time to desaturation during apnea. Additionally, some clinicians use apneic oxygenation techniques during intubation to maintain oxygenation. These strategies together help to prevent significant hypoxia during the intubation process. 2️⃣ Addressing Hemodynamic Instability: The switch from spontaneous breathing to positive pressure ventilation during intubation can dramatically impact a patient's cardiovascular dynamics. Positive pressure ventilation increases intrathoracic pressure, which can decrease venous return to the heart, and consequently, lower cardiac output. This can lead to hypotension, a situation particularly dangerous in patients who are already hypovolemic or have pre-existing cardiac conditions. Furthermore, positive pressure can also increase systemic vascular resistance, which acts as the afterload on the left ventricle, potentially worsening left ventricular failure. Prior to intubation, it's crucial to optimize the patient's volume status and use vasopressors or inotropes if needed to stabilize hemodynamics. 3️⃣ Correcting Acid-Base Disturbances: In conditions of severe metabolic acidosis, patients often hyperventilate to 'blow off' carbon dioxide and compensate for the acidosis, thus maintaining a relatively normal pH. During intubation, however, the use of paralytics and the transition to mechanical ventilation can result in a period of hypoventilation. This can lead to an acute rise in carbon dioxide levels, worsening the acidosis and potentially causing hemodynamic instability. Prior to intubation, it's vital to correct the metabolic disturbances as much as possible to stabilize the patient's pH and bicarbonate levels. 4️⃣ Maximizing Physiologic Reserve: Critically ill patients often have a significantly reduced physiologic reserve, making them more susceptible to brief periods of hypoxia or hypotension, which can lead to end-organ damage. Ensuring adequate oxygenation, hemodynamic stability, and correction of metabolic disturbances before intubation enhances their resilience to the process, reducing the risk of further harm. In summary, the purpose of the "resuscitate before you intubate" approach is to place the patient in the best possible physiological condition to withstand the stresses of intubation and mechanical ventilation. It emphasizes the need to anticipate potential complications and to take steps to prevent them, thereby providing the safest and most effective care for our patients.

My contribution to this conversation is simple: the CFA program will humble you. You will cry. You will lament. You will question your life choices. You will bargain with God and start planning the thanksgiving service you intend to hold if you somehow make it to the other side. All these videos were taken during my Level II preparation, but the third one stands out. I remember being in a hotel room during an engagement. We had spent the entire day with the client, from about 8 a.m. until almost 10 p.m. By the time I got back, I was completely exhausted. Any reasonable person would have gone straight to bed. Instead, I took a shower, opened my CFA materials, and continued studying because the exam was approaching and CFA does not care that you’ve already worked a full day. There were days I was running on pure stubbornness. The kind of period where your prayer points become very specific: “God, if I pass this exam, the thanksgiving will be massive.” Level II showed me real pepper. You will read a concept today, understand it perfectly, solve questions on it, and feel on top of the world. By next week, you have forgotten everything and you’re starting from scratch again. You keep reading. You keep forgetting. You read it again. You forget it again. The cycle continues. CFA Level II will have you asking yourself if your brain is still functioning properly, jare. 😂 As for Level III, I am currently in the stage of fear and mental preparation. I know what it represents, so I am respectfully giving myself time to breathe before I enter that arena. For now, the books and I are just looking at each other from a safe distance. 😭 P.S. don’t mind my reading style. I almost always have music playing in the background while studying. It’s basically my coping mechanism.

The agents that run my LinkedIn outreach are currently getting a 55% reply rate on cold outreach and are generating hundreds of signups for me completely on autopilot. I packaged the exact system into a skill that works for any harness so you can copy it for yourself. Heres why this system prints qualified replies: most outbound starts with a list out of apollo, zoominfo or clay. firmographics. who could buy. that list is cold on arrival because "could buy" and "is thinking about this right now" are two different lists. so mine starts from linkedin posts my buyers are already reacting to. that also means every person on the list actually uses linkedin, since they just reacted to a post on it. most people don't, so a message to a normal list mostly sits unread. across the client accounts i've worked on, an apollo-style list usually gets about 1/10th the reply rate of one built this way. the posts come from three places: buyers posting about the problem themselves (hiring for it, breaking under it, shopping for a fix), a watchlist of my competitors and the creators my buyers follow, and the topic itself. when a buyer writes the post, the author is the best lead on it. anyone reacting to a competitor's product post is already shopping. every search is written in the words buyers actually post in, because vendor jargon only finds other vendors. it pulls everyone who reacted or commented, drops anyone i've already contacted plus competitors and their staff, and scores each person 0 to 100 against my ICP with the reason written on the row. anyone under the bar is gone before i've paid for their email. this is the part everyone skips. for every lead that clears the bar, it reads their website, their LinkedIn profile & anything else it can find about them on the internet, works out what agent would actually help their operation, and builds it. a real one, sitting there, with a claim link. so i am not sending "quick question about your outbound." i am sending "i built you an agent that does X for your company, want me to send over the link?" it sequences that into heyreach for linkedin and instantly for email, then runs the inbox. anyone who has done outbound knows reply speed is most of the game, and also the exact thing you quit doing by week three. every reply fires a webhook. it re-reads the whole thread, tags it interested, not interested or auto-reply, pings me in slack the second someone's interested, and sends them their claim link. i don't touch it. and every reply feeds the next run. it writes more searches like the ones that got answers, so week four sources better than week one. the general rule, and it has nothing to do with my software: use AI to build a personalized, genuinely useful asset and give it away in the first message. you're not hard selling anyone. you are handing them a thing. and because it's built off their actual company, nobody can mistake it for a template. reply rates go up for both reasons at once. it doesn't have to be an agent. the skill builds whatever your business is already good at making: - sell lead gen? a sample list of 10 to 25 of their own buyers - sell SEO? the 3 to 5 searches their competitors win and they don't - build websites? a teardown of their homepage with three fixes - consult? a one-page plan for the exact problem they commented about the playbook behind the messages is the best outbound advice on the internet in one place. it's built from 25 full-length videos and 60 posts from operators who do this at scale, plus 3 production systems running this exact play. scraped the videos and posts with superagnt's data MCP btw. run it once in claude code or codex and look at what it staged. once you like it, it turns the whole thing into a small agent team on a schedule. the sourcing side runs about 8 cents per qualified lead in production. grab it here, paste the install prompt into your agent and let it cook:
