All of these Trump administration actions in Venezuela is about the countries sour crude oil. Many U.S. refineries were built for heavy, sour crude (high sulfur, high density) from places like Canada and Venezuela. However, America mostly produces and works with light, sweet crude oil (low sulfur, low density) from its shale which is great for gasoline. Light sweet crude oil is easier and cheaper to refine.

Congress is spreading misinformation that India isn't importing crude oil from Russia due to pressure. Under the NDA, especially in the last 4-5 years, as per data: • 30-36% of crude oil has been imported from Russia. However, under UPA, it was only 1%. • In 2026, we imported the most crude oil from Russia. • Due to the import of Russian oil, the country has saved around $20-$25 billion.
