The US is not a net exporter of oil. The government lumps things like propane and butane in with oil so they can get away with calling us a net "petroleum" exporter. When it comes to just oil (the stuff that gives us gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel), the US imports more than it exports. Full interview:

Secretary Duffy says we're not going to have oil supply shortages in the US because we produce so much, but that is simply not true. The US is usually a net importer of crude oil because we don't produce the same type of oil that we use.
