I'm seeing a lot of posts on other platforms saying things along the lines of "Australia is doing it right!" in regard to our upcoming Under 16s Social Media Ban. This isn't about protecting children, it's about control. Julie Inman Grant likens being on social media to swimming, and how young people ought to learn how to "swim between the flags." This is all fine and well, except now she wants to ban them from the water entirely? How will they learn to swim if they're just thrown in? Think about the platforms that are allowed to slip through the cracks. Discord, Roblox, Bluesky... All have had allegations of grooming and inappropriate content, yet they're exempt. Why? Control of the narrative. Control of the culture. Control of the impressionable minds of young people. That is all it is.

That's a step backwards. It's not something to be cheerful for. It's not a victory, in my opinion. A victory is having more people have direct ownership of real Bitcoin. We now have millions of people who've been onboarded into this fake paper thing that's a claim on a claim on a claim of something that has Bitcoin in the words, but it's not actually Bitcoin.
