"Objectively worse graphics like Wuwa"??? I glaze Enfield too but this is such a reach, it's unbelievable. Wuwa graphics are untouched in the space rn. Even If you meant artstyle, you still can't say one artstyle is objectively better than the other. Wuwa graphics in question:

If you ask me, I’d choose pixel-style graphics over hyper-realistic graphics any day of the week. A game with lifelike graphics loses an essential part of what makes games special at their core. The Chrono Trigger intro (1995) is a perfect example of pixel art at its finest.

Metal Slug turned 30 this year. It has aged incredibly gracefully; and I think the main reason is its pixel graphic style. Unlike early 90s vector graphics, ray tracing, or hyper-realistic styles, pixel art ages much better. You could release Metal Slug today as an arcade game and it would still work perfectly. You can't say the same about the majority of games from three decades ago. Many, many coins went into this beauty back in the day…
