Throwing garbage carelessly on roads, footpaths, and public spaces and then blaming bbmpcommissioner and Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS is not a solution. Civic responsibility begins with the people. Cleanliness is not only the duty of the administration; it is a basic civic sense that every citizen must practice. Dumping waste “here and there” reflects negligence, indiscipline, and a complete lack of respect for the city we live in. At the same time, civic sense cannot grow in isolation. It is also a genuine request and responsibility of BBMP and GBA to provide proper infrastructure for waste disposal. If garbage bins are placed on every street, at regular and accessible points, people will be far more likely to use them instead of littering the roads. Public convenience plays a critical role in shaping public behavior. So the real question is not one-sided blame. Is it the fault of citizens who lack discipline and basic civic sense? Or is it the fault of the administration for failing to provide essential facilities and systems? The truth is, both share responsibility. Citizens must stop using the absence of bins as an excuse to litter. Carrying waste home or disposing of it properly is a small but necessary act of responsibility. Clean cities are built by mindful citizens, not by slogans and complaints alone. However, authorities like BBMP and Greater Bengaluru Authority must also step up by ensuring adequate bins on every road, regular waste collection, awareness campaigns, and strict enforcement of rules. Only when civic sense from the people and efficient administration from authorities come together can we expect clean streets, healthier surroundings, and a city we can truly be proud of.Cleanliness is not optional. It is a shared duty, and blaming alone will never clean our roads. Karnataka State Police S. Youngsters performing dangerous stunts like doing wheelies on Bengaluru roads while holding swords in their hands is not just a display of recklessness but also of complete disregard for public safety. This kind of behaviour reflects an alarming decline in discipline and a cheap obsession with “going viral” on social media platforms like Instagram. Such stunts not only endanger the lives of innocent commuters but also put the perpetrators themselves at grave risk. By riding without any sense of responsibility and by brandishing weapons, these individuals are creating an atmosphere of fear and chaos on public roads. Their actions are not acts of bravery or “coolness” but examples of a disturbing and immature mentality that glorifies lawlessness. It appears that some of these offenders are repeat violators who continue these antics with impunity. The Bengaluru City Police must take immediate and strict action before these acts lead to tragic accidents or embolden more youngsters to imitate them. Roads are for commuting safely, not for turning into stages for life-threatening stunts. Such behaviour deserves strong condemnation from society and swift, visible punishment from law enforcement to send a clear message: endangering public safety for online fame will not be tolerated. Respect the Uniform Do not misbehave with the police. They are on the roads for your safety and the safety of others, especially on New Year night when risks are high. While police officials are performing their duty and calmly asking a drunk youth to sit and cooperate, this young man is instead misbehaving, arguing, and showing disrespect. Such behavior is completely unacceptable. Police officers are not on the streets to harass anyone they are there to prevent accidents, control crowds, and ensure that celebrations remain safe and peaceful. When a person is drunk and out of control, the police have every right and responsibility to intervene. Instead of cooperating, creating a scene and disrespecting officers who are only doing their job reflects arrogance, indiscipline, and a lack of civic sense. This kind of misconduct not only puts the officer at risk but also endangers the public. While thousands of police personnel sacrifice their own New Year celebrations, stay away from their families, and work through the night to protect citizens, it is shameful for any youth to respond with aggression or defiance.Freedom does not mean behaving recklessly, and celebration does not give anyone the right to insult or obstruct law enforcement. If youths cannot respect the police who are ensuring a safe New Year night for everyone, they are disrespecting the city itself.Such actions must be strongly condemned. Celebrations should be joyful, responsible, and lawful. Respect the police, follow instructions, and remember that their presence on the streets is the reason many families can return home safely. Misbehaving with police officers on duty is not bravery it is irresponsibility and disgrace. Karnataka State Police S. Fun Without Responsibility Is a Curse: Bengaluru Deserves Better Than Drunken Street Chaos This is not the culture of Bengaluru. Do not ruin the image of Namma Bengaluru by turning our roads into places of chaos in the name of parties and New Year celebrations. Seeing youths drunk, falling on the streets, fighting, abusing others, and creating nuisance in public spaces is shameful and unacceptable.Bengaluru has always been known for its culture, civility, and inclusive values. Our city respects and welcomes people from every state and every background who come here to work hard, build their careers, and live peacefully. That openness and mutual respect are what make Bengaluru truly great. However, in the name of celebration, some individuals are ruining this spirit and giving our city a bad image.Celebration does not mean losing self-control. Enjoyment does not give anyone the right to block roads, create fear, disrespect women, damage public property, or disturb others who simply want to live in peace. Such behaviour projects a wrong and ugly image of Bengaluru, not only to locals but also to people across the country and the world. It unfairly puts a bad face on our culture, which has always stood for respect, harmony, and dignity. Those who behave irresponsibly must understand that culture is reflected in conduct, not in loud music, alcohol, or viral videos. If you truly love this city, respect its streets, its people, and its values. Celebrating responsibly is everyone’s duty—whether you are a local or someone who has chosen Bengaluru as your home. At the same time, a heartfelt thank you to the ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ BengaluruCityPolice and all police officials who sacrificed their own celebrations so that others could celebrate safely. Their tireless efforts, long hours, and commitment ensured safety, security, and order across the city while many were enjoying the festivities. Their service and dedication deserve respect and appreciation.Namma Bengaluru deserves better. Let us protect its culture, unity, and reputation. Do not let reckless behaviour in the name of celebration turn our proud, welcoming culture into a bad face for the world to see—because this city is not just a party spot, it is our shared home. Karnataka State Police S. After the infamous delay and abandonment of the Ejipura flyover, this seems set to become yet another glaring example of mismanagement and negligence by the authorities in Karnataka. Why were these pillars constructed in the first place if the project was not going to be completed on time? Such half-finished infrastructure not only wastes public money but also creates inconvenience, traffic chaos, and safety risks for citizens. It raises serious questions about planning, accountability, and the misuse of taxpayer funds. Projects are announced with great enthusiasm, budgets are sanctioned, and construction begins but somewhere along the way, everything comes to a standstill. Is it due to corruption, lack of coordination, or sheer administrative failure? The public deserves answers. These incomplete structures stand as silent reminders of broken promises and poor governance. If strict action is not taken against those responsible, such failures will continue to repeat, ultimately eroding public trust in the system. Karnataka State Police S. Shakti Scheme Misused in Karnataka Aadhaar Fraud on BMTC/KSRTC Buses The Shakti Scheme is exclusively for women citizens of Karnataka,Yet, the scheme is being openly misused through Aadhaar fraud on BMTC and KSRTC buses.Several ineligible passengers are morphing Aadhaar cards, using duplicates, and pasting their own photos on someone else’s Aadhaar to travel free. In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old woman was caught using the Aadhaar card of a 10-year-old child to exploit the scheme. This is not a minor violation it is deliberate cheating of the government and misuse of a public welfare scheme. Such acts drain public resources and rob genuine beneficiary of their rightful benefit. This scam has been going on for long and must be stopped immediately. Authorities need strict verification, surprise checks, and legal action against offenders. Welfare schemes are meant to uplift society, not to reward fraud and dishonesty. Stop Aadhaar fraud. Protect public welfare. Western Imitation, Local Destruction: How Drunken Celebrations Are Ruining Our City image This is not our city’s culture, and it is certainly not our country’s culture. What we are witnessing today in the name of New Year celebrations is the unchecked influence of so-called Western culture that is ruining the image, pride, and values of our city. Drinking excessively, falling on the streets, fighting in public, abusing others, and creating ruckus on roads and footpaths is not celebration it is irresponsible and shameful behavior. True celebration reflects joy, dignity, respect, and togetherness, not chaos and lawlessness. Turning public roads into drinking zones, disturbing families, harassing passersby, and endangering lives after consuming alcohol only shows a lack of civic sense and moral responsibility. Such actions tarnish the reputation of our city, which has long been known for its culture, discipline, and inclusive spirit. Many people come to this city from outside to work hard, build a better life, and contribute positively to society and that is welcome. But choosing drunken misconduct, public nuisance, and violent behavior in the name of a “good life” is not progress. It reflects poor values and disrespect toward the city that provides opportunities and livelihood. Our streets are not places for drunken drama. Our festivals and celebrations should never become excuses for breaking the law or humiliating our culture. The youth, in particular, must understand that freedom does not mean indiscipline, and enjoyment does not justify harming others or damaging the city’s image. If such behavior continues unchecked, it will only lead to stricter laws, loss of public trust, and a permanent stain on the city’s reputation. It is time to celebrate responsibly, respect local culture, obey the law, and uphold the dignity of the city and the country we are proud of.Heartfelt thanks to BengaluruTrafficPolice official, who worked tirelessly, sacrificed their own celebrations, and stood firm to ensure public safety and order. Toxic Smell Spreads Across Bidadi as Chemical Waste Pollutes Area A shocking incident of chemical waste dumping has been reported in the Bidadi area , causing severe environmental pollution and posing a serious threat to public health. Large quantities of chemical waste are being illegally dumped, and the strong, unbearable stench has spread across nearby residential localities, making daily life extremely difficult for the people living in the surroundings. This unchecked dumping is not only polluting this area but also damaging the soil and surrounding ecosystem, which could have irreversible consequences in the future Why are authorities allowing Bidadi to become a dumping ground for toxic chemical waste? Who will take responsibility if this pollution leads to serious health issues or environmental disasters? Immediate inspection, strict legal action, and continuous monitoring are urgently required. No matter whether the Chief Minister changes or not, the condition of Bengaluru's roads seems to remain the same. Just look at the state of this road. Thousands of citizens use this stretch every day for their daily commute, yet it has been reduced to what looks more like an off-road track than a city road. The entire stretch is filled with craters, broken surfaces, loose gravel, and missing tar. Driving here is not only uncomfortable but also dangerous for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. During rains, these potholes become even more hazardous, increasing the risk of accidents and vehicle damage. Citizens continue to pay taxes, road tax, fuel tax, and various other levies with the expectation of receiving basic infrastructure and safe roads. But looking at conditions like these, one question naturally arises: Where is the taxpayers' money going? Bengaluru deserves better. Safe and well-maintained roads are not a luxury they are a basic necessity for every citizen. Karnataka State Police S.
