Raila Odinga’s life was never defined by hatred — it was defined by forgiveness, resilience, and an unshakable belief that Kenya can heal, no matter how deep the wounds run. In Kasarani he forgave Moi, the man whose regime denied him peace. He embraced Kibaki, the president whose government humiliated him. He shook hands with Uhuru Kenyatta, the rival who once called him an enemy. And even with William Ruto whose regime detained his followers and watched them bleed Raila still believed in dialogue over destruction. That is who Raila Amollo Odinga was a man who rose above betrayal, pain, and division for the dream of one Kenya. Let no one shed blood in his name. Let no tribe raise arms in his memory. Raila Odinga’s final wish would never be chaos it would be truth, justice, and peace. And yes, there is only one man who can tell us who killed Raila Odinga. I want to apologise to the members of ODM and the country in general for the delay in the morning because this news was broken by other media before we could do that. We had to wait for the head of state to make that announcement officially because Raila Odinga was not just the leader of ODM, he was a statesman and a pan Africanist. His elder brother Oburu Odinga was upcountry and we had to wait for him to come to Nairobi so that that announcement could be made

Winnie Odinga: I think Dr Oburu Oginga is a wonderful acting party leader in this transition period and he is steadying the ship. This is not a very easy ship to steady, but he is weathering the storm and he has said many times that he is acting transitionally and will make space for other young people. My uncle has lived a life of determination, strength and loyalty. Winnie Odinga would be the last person that at his age of 82, would allow his legacy to be besmirched by a political tug of war. We are very happy with him being in the position that he is; he is certainly the best person in that position #CitizenExplainer

🔸They were not fighting against Robert Mugabe. They were fighting to become a worse version of him. Even on his worst day, Mugabe never banned elections. He would steal elections but at least he would have them. His successors are doing away with even those fake optics of being in power pursuant to the will of the people. Zimbabwe is the best example of the worst type of leadership. They pledged not to overstay in power yet they are doing exactly that. We need new leaders.🇿🇼
