interesting how the mass of the balls affect the possibility of closing the circuit. The bigger ones have more surface area making them more conductive and create a larger flux field, but their bigger mass also makes them less likely to roll toward another ball.

No they don’t, the balls are aligning with the magnetic field produced by the flow of electricity.
