Pocha the elephant was stolen and lived in captivity in a zoo in Argentina for over 20 years. Her daughter, Guillermina, was born there, both living in a small concrete pit enclosure, never eating the wild grasses or playing in the mud. The people who ran the zoo decided to do the right thing for the animals and began finding sanctuaries for them. An elephant sanctuary in Brazil agreed to take Pocha and Guillermina and plans were made for the transfer. The girls seemed to understand what was happening and the zoo staff were emotional as they said goodbye. It took several days for them to overcome their initial fear of the larger space at the sanctuary but they eventually moved out of their barn into the yard and began to explore and play. They had no idea how much their lives had changed for the better!

At our Reintegration Units in Tsavo and Umani Springs, orphans grow steadily more independent, spending days and then nights away, until the wild becomes home. Even then, many still choose return to the place and people that raised them every now and again. Most don't go it alone. They join herds of ex-orphans who went wild before them, or form their own, made up of other ex-orphans they grew up with – the friendships made at the unit become the family they live wild with. As for who leads – matriarchy settles the way it does in any wild herd: through age, temperament, and the respect of the others. Pretty cool to catch this little interaction between Rollins and Giannis during the game. Bucks had been using Rollins as the inverted screener for Giannis in the 4th. During Bam’s free throws Rollins runs over to Giannis and I’d assume he tells GA that he’s going to flip the screen at the last second on this upcoming possession. Those 2 go down and run it perfectly for a wide open layup. Rollins hasn’t been used as inverted screener much this season but when he has, it hasn’t worked as smoothly as it has with other guys. Bucks went to it today in the 4th though and i think it directly led to at least 6 points over 3 possessions.

A herd of around 30 wild elephants—from tiny calves to full-grown adults, including the matriarch—appeared at Kruger National Park in South Africa. 🐘 In a special moment, while on the move, the entire herd suddenly approached a tourist safari vehicle… and then decided to settle down and sleep right beside it! The baby elephants stretched out on the ground for a nap, while the adults slept standing, as elephants naturally do. As a result, the vehicle was “stuck” in the middle of the herd for over an hour. The herd slept peacefully and trustingly right beside the vehicle, creating a scene that was both adorable and a super rare “elephant traffic jam.” 💖✨

This is the aerial footage ORES doesn’t want you to see. This is what they’ve done to one rural Upstate NY town. Over 6,000 acres of land has been sited for commercial solar. The Hamlet of Byron is only 400 acres in size. And there are other solar complexes beyond the ORES monstrosities here. The people from there write to me and tell me they’ve had to mourn their home. The graves where their parents are buried are now surrounded on 4 sides by Chinese solar panels. The farmland is gone. The animals displaced. Roadkill by the perimeter fencing in every direction. No one’s electric bills went down. All of ours went up. They are using the delivery charge to socialize the failed rollout of solar and wind. What pathetic amounts of energy it generates in our northern climate isn’t for Upstate at all. It’s for NYC. We’re districts in the Hunger Games, bled dry for those in costumes over in the Capitol that laugh as they give our best land to foreign corporations. I will never, ever forgive these people. They are anti-human, anti-environment, and anti-God.
