He's not wrong. A lot of countries actually require voter ID. It's simply weird that it doesn't seem to be the case for USA.

I don't know what the big deal is about showing your ID when you go to vote. I don't remember a time when I did not have to show mine in order to pick up my ballot and vote.

ID is essential, but it must be controlled by the states, not the Feds.
