Elon Musk: As we advance the Neuralink devices, you should be able to actually have full body control and sensors from an Optimus robot So you could basically inhibit an Optimus robot. It's not just the hand, but the whole thing. So you could like basically mentally remote into an Optimus robot and be kind of cool. The future is gonna be weird, but pretty cool And then another thing that could be done also is like for people that have say lost a limb, lost an arm or leg or something like that, then we think in the future we'll be able to attach an Optimus arm or legs and so you kind of like I remember that scene from a Star Wars where Luke Skywalker gets his hand, you know, chopped off with a lightsaber and he gets kind of a robot hand And I think that's the kind of thing that we'll be able to do in the future working with Neuralink and Tesla. So it goes far beyond just operating a robot hand, but replacing limbs and having kind of a whole body robot experience. And then I think another thing that will be possible like I think it's very likely in the future is to be able to bridge the where the damaged neurons So you can take the signal from the brain and and transmit that signal past where the neurons are damaged or strained to the rest of the body, so you could reanimate the body. So that if you have a Neuralink implant in the brain and then one in the spinal cord, then you can actually bridge the signals and you could walk again and have full body functionality Obviously that's what people would prefer. To be clear, we realize that would be the preferred outcome. And so that even if you have a broken neck, you could still we believe I'm actually at this point I'd say fairly confident that at some point in the future we'll be able to restore full body functionality

A subset of it is the problems we can solve. So the question of P versus NP is whether we can solve all the problems we want to solve, whether we can know everything we want to know. This is basically about the limits of our knowledge. You can think there is no limit to what we may want to know but I claim that essentially in any human endeavor, what people are searching for have the property that when a solution is found, it is easily recognized. NP are all problems that we can honestly say we really want to solve and P are those that we can solve. Whether they are equal is just the very fact that a solution can be easily recognized would imply that it can be efficiently found. That means that we can know everything we ever want to know, it's a fundamental question about human knowledge."

The first part is called telepathy, allows someone who has lost the use of their body to control a computer or a phone just by thinking. In fact, you can interact with a number of people who've done this online. Right now, they're on on the 𝕏 platform, you can DM them, I think, and they'll reply by thinking. Then there's a second device, very similar to the first one, called BLINDSIGHT, which will enable people who are blind to see, including people who have been blind from birth. It'll interface directly with the visual cortex in the brain. And hopefully we'll be able to do the first blind site implant in a human within the next 12 months, I'd say I'm quite confident that we can do that. And then I also think it's quite likely, if not close to certain, that we'll be able to enable somebody who's has a severed spinal column to walk again, and by taking the signals from the brain, bridging them over the severed connection in the spine and re energizing the nerves past the point that's broken, like you can just think of it like some wires got broken, and if you can bridge the signals, your body will work again."
