Starship Is The Largest And Most Powerful Space Transportation System Ever Built Standing over 400 feet (123m) tall with a 9m diameter, it is as Elon Musk stated “the largest flying object by far ever made.” Its current configuration delivers ~72 MN of liftoff thrust, already double the Saturn V’s 35.1 MN. With Raptor 3 engines, it will reach nearly three times the Saturn V’s thrust. Designed as the backbone for multiplanetary expansion, Starship can deliver 100–150 metric tons to LEO fully reusable (up to 250 tons expendable). This capability is essential for deploying massive infrastructure such as orbital AI data centers and transporting the millions of tons of cargo and thousands of people required to establish a self-sustaining civilization on Mars. Size matters when building across the solar system.
