Crabbing is not a technique. Only the B-52 does that with its special landing gear system. That video is a display of poor airmanship which produces massive structural side loads on the landing gear. I’m a retired Captain. 14,000 hours. I would never let a ham fisted First Officer land the the aircraft like that.

I kick the rudder at least some even in the 747. I will never understand this technique

De-crab in the flare, drop the upwing wing into the wind and with top rudder, align the fuselage to land on the upwind wheel. Continue the wing drop aileron throughout the downwind landing gear touch to lower the nose gently with rudder remaining until slowed, then tiller wheel.

You’re supposed to kick off the drift with rudder as you touchdown so you’re aligned with the runway. That was dangerous.

Absolutely terrible. Definitely needs to go back to the SIM to practice de-crabbing.

This seems brutal for the landing gear. Crabbing means the wheels should roll diagonally not drag like this no?

Everyone is fortunate the side loads didn't rip the tires or the gear off.

It's a stock standard crosswind landing. All pilots learn this. What's the issue?

Send that pilot back to primary training in a light aircraft!

My 13 yr old son did this in a glider; it's a basic flying technique in cross-wind landings. This: he did it knowing he had to do it. No going around. No powering up to try again. An emergency landing. 13. Yes, this plane is bigger & more complicated to fly. Same technique.
