This shutdown was completely avoidable—and the only ones who lost were the American people. Families should never be used as bargaining chips. Children should never be on the brink of hunger. Those who are sick should never face financial ruin to get healthcare. Federal workers should never have to work without pay. We need leaders who will come to the table and work for the American people. It’s time to get back to work!
