In my continuing doomed attempt to promote more 1980s Dutch pop music on X, may I present Dolly Dots and their 1983 single Don't Give Up! Dolly Dots started in 1979 and had 25 top 40 hits in the Netherlands, changing their look and their sound along the way. Don't Give Up came out around the same time as their TV show launched, and four years later they would star in their own movie 'Dutch Treat'. Angela, Angéla, Anita, Esther, Patty and Ria decided to call it a day in 1988, but came back together for a 2021-22 reunion tour.

The clock continues to tick. The light keeps changing. The world outside never stops moving. And yet, for a brief instant, the present seems deeper than usual. Not because time has stopped. But because we suddenly perceive more within that very moment. That is the experience Johann Sebastian Bach creates in Air from Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068. The wonder of this music does not lie in eliminating motion. Still waiting on the “It was a 🔫 Crowd” to explain how this ‘reverberating shockwave feature’ (with debris!) fits their 🔫 shot narrative. The ONLY proof of a shot thus far is the audible sound played over the loud speakers since there is not a single video - anywhere of a person with a rifle. *If there is a bullet in the autopsy report, then someone shot Charlie AFTER he left UVU. Facts that support a detonation from under his shirt… 1. Everyone (Security/Staff/Hibbs) is eyeing the triggerman (still unidentified) working for the Tour. 2. Hunter Kozac signaled to him that the trigger question was next. 3. UVU won’t release security video from under the tunnel that recorded this in it’s entirety. 4. CK’s shirt moves first from underneath and the necklace is busting away from his body before any wound is present - this is completely out of order for a 🔫 wound. 5. The team is illegally searching for & cleaning up debris in the grass prior to the FBIs arrival- this is bc debris is seen exploding away from Charlie and they can’t afford for that to be collected as evidence. 6. UVU remodeled & covered up the crime scene 4 days after CK’s death so there wouldn’t be any leftover traces for the FBI or ATF to investigate an explosion. It’s plain as day.

So how is the Sega Dreamcast's very own native port of Mario Kart 64 coming along? Well, lets take a look at some footage I just captured directly from my DC of jnmartin's latest build! Minor texture corruption is still present on some of the sprites here and there, plus there's no audio yet, BUT MY OH MY! She's running like a dream and looks SHARP as hell at with progressive scan at twice the resolution! You'll immediately notice virtually all of the texture corruption on the text and UI sprites have been fixed. You can now actually see your item box, and clouds are drawn properly in the background, rather than over the top of the scene in the foreground. Somehow, along with fixing all of this in the past few days, jnmartin has also found the time to get the monitors in the backgrounds of Luigi's Raceway and Wario Stadium correctly projecting a view of the scene onto their screens. This somewhat-advanced effect (for the time) was actually done on the N64 (in this game) WITHOUT doing a secondary render-to-texture pass, which requires submitting the scene a second time to the GPU. Instead, the framebuffer was divided into small, tiled chunks (1/6 of its total size), with only a single small chunk getting updated per frame. This way, the amount of direct VRAM access from the CPU (which is typically slow as hell) is kept to a minimum within the duration of a particular frame, with multiple frames being required to update the entire screen. But anyway, she's starting to look and play incredibly well, and those of us with early access to the builds have been thoroughly enjoying revisiting this title on our favorite platform!

Somehow, along with fixing all of this in the past few days, jnmartin has also found the time to get the monitors in the backgrounds of Luigi's Raceway and Wario Stadium correctly projecting a view of the scene onto their screens. This somewhat-advanced effect (for the time) was actually done on the N64 (in this game) WITHOUT doing a secondary render-to-texture pass, which requires submitting the scene a second time to the GPU. Instead, the framebuffer was divided into small, tiled chunks (1/6 of its total size), with only a single small chunk getting updated per frame. This way, the amount of direct VRAM access from the CPU (which is typically slow as hell) is kept to a minimum within the duration of a particular frame, with multiple frames being required to update the entire screen. But anyway, she's starting to look and play incredibly well, and those of us with early access to the builds have been thoroughly enjoying revisiting this title on our favorite platform!

The unprecedented strength of Hurricane Melissa, following recent storms such as Hurricane Barry, underscores the urgency of global action. The world must adhere to the 1.5-degree target. Failure to act will guarantee more frequent and more destructive storms for countries like ours. Resilience must guide us. Investing in resilient infrastructure, diversified energy systems, and preparedness is simply sound economics. We call on G20 members to provide climate finance at the scale and concessionality required to rebuild, expand risk-transfer mechanisms, and strengthen agricultural systems that sustain livelihoods. Jamaica is committed to a just energy transition and to achieving at least 50% renewable electricity by 2030. But achieving these goals demands partnership, technology, financing, and capacity-building from major economies. Let us build the partnerships necessary to strengthen resilience and accelerate the transition to clean energy for the benefit of present and future generations.
