It should never have been about replacing. It should have been how can we use this tool to be more productive and therefor make the company more profitable. Which processes, which departments, which workflows etc ? Mass adopting the tool without plan or with a bad plan hurts the pocket.

Exactly. But more than people I would put emphasis on the fact that managers should be briefed and they should have a very thoughtful oversight about it's usage. It's a new tool, it needs to be supervised more than other tools.

No, they don’t want to use a competitors more expensive product when they have a 27% stake in OpenAI. They are having those engineers use Copilot (ChatGPT with a wrapper) and OpenAI. Thats not replacing AI, they’re just using a cheaper alternative they already have massive investment in. Simple business

engineers are cheaper than 30-turn loops. type errors cascade and a 3-turn refactor becomes 30. budget blows on loop depth, not model price. cap the depth and the math flips back.

😂 Classic hype cycle in action. Microsoft didn't "ban AI" they just cancelled the expensive Claude Code licenses after devs went HAM on it and the token bill exploded. Now everyone's back on GitHub Copilot (their own cheaper stack). Translation: AI is still eating code, just on Microsoft's terms and wallet. Unit economics always slap harder than the demo videos. This a temporary growing pain or the first crack in the "AI will 10x everything tomorrow" narrative? Who's seeing similar cost drama in their org? 👀

Very true, very often. Many CEOs blindly believed the fallacy of AI being able to replace real people and to save them money. Not going to happen.

Replacing people was always the wrong goal. The companies quietly using AI to make their existing teams 3x more effective are the ones worth watching. Most CEOs missed that framing entirely

Been there. My team burned through Claude budget in two weeks like it was free candy. Switched back to Copilot and suddenly we’re 'optimizing costs' again. Classic.

Its because AI makes a lot of errors and it take more manpower to fix those errors than to just have people write all the code from the start. Eventually this will no longer be the case.
