From what I see, most people who are panicking over this are junior folks. Seniors knows that writing code is just a minor part of what we do as a software engineer and would welcome the assistance of such AIs with an open hand since it frees them up to do other critical tasks.

Windsurf’s founder explains that even if AI generates most of the code, engineers still spend time reviewing it, debugging issues, designing systems, testing, deploying, and making architectural decisions.
