AI is not accelerating nearly fast enough to cure cancer. That is the problem. And it literally cannot without actually seeing what’s happening inside the cell. There’s this new project claiming their models will “solve” cancer by predicting drug responses at scale. Cool story. Except their entire approach still treats the cell like a black box. They’re optimizing for binding affinity while having zero idea what the drug actually does once it’s inside a real, living cell. Meanwhile we’re over here building the tools to watch the cell in real time. No staining or sequencing. Just direct observation of mechanism. You can simulate all you want. But if you can’t see the actual cellular response, you’re just making very confident guesses about something you’ve never actually looked at. We’ve spent two years proving this. The data is there. The difference is night and day. AI is a tool. It’s not the microscope. If your model can’t tell you why a drug is killing the wrong cells or why resistance is forming in real time… it’s not ready to cure cancer. It’s ready to waste another billion dollars. It’s surprising how much we focus on every new model drop, while some of the most meaningful AI work is happening quietly in the real world. Google DeepMind’s AnthroKrishi team built two AI models using satellite imagery: - Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) maps farm boundaries, trees and water bodies, with historical data going back 15 years. - Agricultural Monitoring & Event Detection (AMED) uses multispectral data to monitor crops, sowing and harvesting, identifying 11 major crops. As always everyone is blind staring at the progress of LLMs for coding and chat But meanwhile the new SOTA video model Seedance 2.5 has been slowly rolling out and it's really quite exceptional It's made by ByteDance (TikTok) who of course have lots of training data With just a few reference pics, it can get quite close to how you look IRL and you can do quite professional video shots with just a prompt I'd say it's the first video model that's now at the level of image models with the level of character likeness, cracking that in image models also took about 3 years (2022-2025) Generating 15 seconds takes about 4 minutes I put it live now on Photo AI, you can use it under [ Make video ] from the sidebar with just a prompt and your model selected! So you don't need to take an AI photo first and then turn that into a video! Saves lots of time :D It's more expensive than but I kept the credits the same (30 for 1 video) It also works inside the new video editor and you can make changes in your video with [ Magic edit ] in both the main app and the video editor Also a message for my server guy Daniel Lockyer (it can do voice too and you can even submit a voice sample of yourself, but I didn't here)

First fully ML-framework-free 3D Gaussian Splatting implementation in LichtFeld Studio. I’ve completed the migration of the full training pipeline to a custom CUDA-based tensor library. No PyTorch, no LibTorch, no autograd. Every gradient is implemented by hand, either through CUDA kernels or minimal abstractions on top. This makes it the first full training setup for 3D Gaussian Splatting with zero dependencies on existing ML frameworks. It’s not just about independence, it's about control! We now manage every byte of GPU memory, which opens the door to tighter optimization and finer performance tuning. The framework footprint is minimal, without pulling in gigabytes of ML runtime code that was never designed for real-time or graphics-driven applications. A few modules, such as the metrics and 3DGUT interfaces, are still being ported, and some operations are temporarily naïve, so performance is not yet on par with master. But this refactor lays the groundwork for: - A fully self-contained binary - Fine-grained memory optimization - Easier experimentation without the weight of an ML stack We’re getting close.

No PyTorch, no LibTorch, no autograd. Every gradient is implemented by hand, either through CUDA kernels or minimal abstractions on top. This makes it the first full training setup for 3D Gaussian Splatting with zero dependencies on existing ML frameworks. It’s not just about independence, it's about control! We now manage every byte of GPU memory, which opens the door to tighter optimization and finer performance tuning. The framework footprint is minimal, without pulling in gigabytes of ML runtime code that was never designed for real-time or graphics-driven applications. A few modules, such as the metrics and 3DGUT interfaces, are still being ported, and some operations are temporarily naïve, so performance is not yet on par with master. But this refactor lays the groundwork for: - A fully self-contained binary - Fine-grained memory optimization - Easier experimentation without the weight of an ML stack We’re getting close.
