Mountain Shrine by Environment Artist David Szieber is a serene Japanese mountain shrine environment built in Unreal Engine and Substance 3D Designer and is a personal tribute to traditional architecture. The project is a great reference for structure detailing, natural composition, and the use of warm lighting to build peaceful exploration spaces. The Seaside Sprout by Digital 3D Artist Travis Sindewald is a personal project inspired by the background images that usually accompany LoFi streams. The project used an Unreal Engine water plugin to help complete the calming coastal elements. "I set out to build a place that feels cozy and quiet, like something you’d see in a LoFi stream. At the same time, I challenged myself to blend a more painterly style with realistic lighting and materials. I mainly used Blender and Substance Designer while the water is using Unreal Engine 5 water plugin." - Travis Sindewald

Last Yard by Environment Artist Tony Vo is their final project for their mentorship term at Think Tank Online 🚌 Over 4 months, Tony worked in Unreal Engine 5 on the project, which is based on concept art by Huihui Chen. One handy tip that Tony learned that saved time throughout development was to use Ctrl+B on any selected actor to instantly locate it within the content browser.

She was inspired by rural mountain towns and local general stores in her home, Taiwan. This project taught Chiao how to set dress an environment & tell a story with a limited number of props. She also learned how to generate procedural assets with Houdini and Unreal Blueprints, which helped make the piece feel more lived in and organic. Congratulations, Chiao! Seedance 2.0 - Advanced Workflows Series 12. Cinematics with Unreal Engine and Claude Fable 5 Fable 5 is an absolute beast model that can take control of Unreal Engine and create videogames. We can build scenes as a little video game with physics and assets and configure a playable character to create a cinematic scene. In this example I created a scene of an astronaut lost in space floating between asteroids. I created a zero gravity environment and made assets like cubes and spheres representing asteroids interact in this environment. I recorded the gameplay and later place a camera to build the cinematic. Workflow + Prompts 👇

Village in the Clouds by Lucas Cavalcanti 3D, is a personal, game-ready environment project based on the artwork of 简繁, created to improve his understanding of large-scale environments in Unreal Engine 5. The scene was crafted from scratch, including props, vegetation, textures, VFX, landscape and buildings. In addition to this, the main character was created in VRoid Studio, the modeling and texturing of the Yak was done by 3D Artist Guilherme Miles and the art direction was handled by Concept Artist Dan Vitoria. "I built this project from scratch, using mostly information freely available on the internet. Planning and persistence were crucial to achieving this result. Unreal Engine’s native tools made my work much easier, such as the Vertex Paint tool for texturing the house walls and the Niagara System for creating real-time waterfalls." - Lucas Cavalcanti
