Epstein survivor: On November 19, 2025, Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act because the American people have lost confidence in the Department of Justice's commitment to transparency in the Epstein case. The act imposed legal obligations on the DOJ. It required the Attorney General to release responsive records, protect victims' personally identifying information, and limit redactions to those specifically authorized by law, and provide Congress with an accounting of what was withheld and why. Yet 6 months past the deadline, the department has failed to do that.

Thomas Massie and I wrote to him to request that he appoint a special master to ensure we get the files without excessive redactions. The nation and survivors will trust him to be a fair interpreter of what the law requires.
