Ah, yes; the grimdark OVA where everything is dirty, the characters are all depressed, and they try to cram 26 episodes of content into less than 90 minutes. Great music, though.

Nice movie, visuals and music. But then story too condensed. The anime is a big milestone for me, I gave it yet another rewatch recently. I'm older now, and even if the nostalgia is still hitting, I think the rom is very flawed. Rage of Bahamut S2 does it more elegantly.

I haven’t watched the movie verison of escflowne but that yoko kanno track perfection. The escflowne in this scene seemed to be more of a bio weapon than a giant suit of armor or standard mecha.
