One of the students recording this appears to confirm that Ana Atta was indeed attacked at some point during this day. One of the biggest culprits here is actually the police which seems to be completely uninterested in controlling things. The army officer should have focused on just exiting with his wife rather than getting caught up in confronting different men in the mob. But imo him showing up to protect his wife was understandable. I think his main intent was to protect his wife who was being harassed (with one piece of evidence which indicates that she was assaulted on this day too). In this particular case, I dont think his intent was to show up to throw his weight around (like they usually do) just bec he wanted to.
