⚠️ Russia could strike NATO using Ukrainian-made drones Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas made the warning, saying Vilnius has information that Russia is considering attacks on critical infrastructure in the Baltic region. “We have information that Russia is considering unconventional kinetic attacks against critical infrastructure in the Baltic region. It is quite possible that Russia could use Ukrainian-made drones for this purpose,” he said. According to Lithuania’s information, Moscow has not yet made a final decision on such an operation. However, the country has already stepped up security at several critical infrastructure sites.

🇱🇻🇪🇺🇷🇺 Russia’s hybrid war against Europe is not a future scenario, it is already underway, Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs has warned as pressure on NATO’s eastern flank continues to intensify. 🗣️ “It’s not something that will start sometime in the future. It’s happening now,” Rinkēvičs said. His warning comes amid growing concerns over sabotage, cyber operations, disinformation, drone incursions and attacks against critical infrastructure across Europe, tactics designed to pressure NATO members while remaining below the threshold of conventional war. The distinction between peace and conflict is therefore becoming increasingly blurred on NATO’s eastern flank. Moscow can test European defenses and political cohesion without sending conventional forces across NATO borders, making resilience against hybrid attacks almost as important as tanks, missiles and soldiers. For the Baltic states in particular, the confrontation with Russia is no longer theoretical. It is already being fought, just without a formally declared war. See the latest updates with us: Visioner

🚨🇩🇪🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹 Bild has outlined several possible scenarios for a future Russian attack against NATO’s Baltic flank, ranging from covert sabotage and deniable hybrid operations to a direct attempt to sever the Baltic states from the rest of the Alliance. According to Bild, one scenario involves underwater attacks against critical seabed infrastructure such as data cables, power links, pipelines and maritime industrial facilities, where attribution could initially remain unclear. Another is the so-called “Narva trap,” in which armed groups suddenly appear inside Estonia while Moscow denies involvement. Other scenarios include a Russian attempt to seize or neutralize Gotland to threaten NATO movement across the Baltic Sea, provoking a crisis around Norway’s Svalbard archipelago under the pretext of protecting Russian citizens, and the most dangerous option: Russian forces advancing from Belarus toward Kaliningrad through the Suwałki corridor, potentially cutting Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania off by land before major NATO reinforcements can arrive. The common logic behind these scenarios is speed, ambiguity and pressure on NATO decision-making. Moscow would gain the greatest advantage by creating a crisis faster than the Alliance can politically and militarily respond, which is why reinforcement routes, undersea infrastructure protection and forward defense around the Suwałki corridor remain among NATO’s most strategically sensitive priorities. 🇫🇮 Finland is preparing for Russian sabotage in the Baltic — holding a unique maritime drill Security forces practiced fast-roping from a helicopter, seizing a suspected sabotage vessel and inspecting its crew. Since 2022, the region has seen a series of damaged power cables, internet lines and gas pipelines, and Helsinki openly calls the situation the “new normal” — effectively adapting to a constant threat of sabotage. Finland is preparing not only for ships dragging anchors “by accident,” but also for divers, mini-submarines and underwater drones carrying explosives.

Threat to the fleet everywhere on the attack on the Boyky Ukrainian sources have released footage of a strike on the corvette Boyky of the Baltic Fleet at the Kronstadt Naval Plant. The ship was in dry dock for repairs when it was hit at least twice. This is not the first time Ukrainian forces have targeted Russian ships during maintenance. The incident highlights ongoing vulnerabilities in protecting naval assets from UAV attacks, even in the Baltic region. Despite a high interception rate, individual drones continue to get through. The use of mesh netting over ships has proven insufficient. There is also a high likelihood that Starlink terminals were used for guidance, with relay drones operating from the Baltic states into the Gulf of Finland. The only reliable response is a significant increase in air defense coverage, including more mobile groups and practical use of interceptor drones. Ukrainian drone production continues to grow, meaning the intensity of such attacks will only increase.

German Foreign Minister Wadephul: With Leipzig, the threat from Russia has become particularly tangible. We are seeing increasing Russian drone incidents and airspace violations in several of our member states on the eastern flank. We must have no illusions: Russia is threatening us not only militarily on the eastern flank and is continuing its war of aggression against Ukraine relentlessly. We are still seeing more hybrid attacks, cyberattacks, sabotage, disinformation and attacks on critical infrastructure.

🚨 BREAKING: ITALY TO DEPLOY AIR DEFENSE FORCE TO EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN Guido Crosetto says Italy is preparing to deploy a multi-domain military force to the Middle East as tensions escalate across the region. The planned deployment will reportedly include air-defense systems designed to counter drones and missile threats, aimed at strengthening protection around Cyprus. According to Crosetto, the operation is being coordinated with Spain and France, signalling a broader European security response in the Eastern Mediterranean. The move comes amid rising concerns over missile and drone threats tied to the expanding regional conflict. If carried out, the deployment would represent one of the first coordinated European military support efforts in the area during the current crisis.

🚨🇩🇪⚡️🔥 German authorities have discovered another 11 explosive devices near energy infrastructure, deepening fears of a coordinated sabotage campaign against the country’s power network, according to BILD. The devices were found near several substations in Saxony, where the suspected saboteurs allegedly intended to damage or destroy power transmission lines. The discovery comes amid a growing series of suspicious incidents targeting German energy infrastructure. 🔥 The pattern is becoming increasingly difficult to dismiss as isolated vandalism. Repeated attempts against substations and transmission lines point to a deliberate effort to test Germany’s critical infrastructure, create disruption and force authorities to divert more resources into internal security and counter-sabotage.

🇸🇪 Is Sweden gearing up for a war with Putin? Stockholm wants to create a unified air defense shield over the Nordic and Baltic countries Sweden’s ruling Moderate Party has pledged to push for a joint air defense “umbrella” if it wins the September election. The systems would share data and jointly track ballistic and cruise missiles, drones and other threats, Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard said. The joint shield would be developed gradually. Stenergard did not specify when it could become fully operational. The idea did not come out of nowhere: after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Sweden overhauled its security policy, joined NATO and began ramping up defense spending. Now, the country’s leaders want to strengthen the defenses of the entire region.

35 years of the legendary "Baltic Way": Millions of people holding hands changed the course of history About two million citizens of #Lithuania, #Latvia and #Estonia, holding hands, formed a living chain more than 600 kilometers long. August 23, 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of one of the most significant actions in the history of the struggle for independence - the "Baltic Way". On this day in 1989, about two million citizens of the three Baltic republics - Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - held hands, forming a living chain more than 670 kilometers long, with about 2 million people (25% of the population of the three countries at that time), connecting Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn. To understand the significance of the "Baltic Way" it is necessary to recall what became its historical background. On August 23, 1939, the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, a non-aggression agreement between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, was signed. Attached to this pact was a secret protocol that divided Eastern Europe into spheres of influence. This deal brought Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia into the Soviet zone, leading to their occupation in 1940 by the USSR. "Baltic Way" was not only a protest against the forced annexation, but also a demand for the restoration of national sovereignty. A year after the "Baltic Way", Lithuania was the first republic to proclaim the restoration of its independence. It was followed by Latvia and Estonia. Today, the Baltic States annually celebrate this day, which remains a symbol of resistance to dictatorship and aspiration for freedom. The action is included in UNESCO's Memory of the World list and continues to inspire new generations.

‼️Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen: (I've added the video with English subtitles) In recent days, Denmark has been subjected to hybrid attacks. Drones have been seen in several places near critical infrastructure, both military and civilian. These are attacks we must expect to see more of. They are attacks designed to create insecurity and division. They are attacks meant to shake us as people and as a society. All of this underscores that the security threat to Europe is serious and very real. That is why, over the past years, we have been carrying out a massive build-up of Denmark’s defense. And it is also why we have continued to support Ukraine. Which, I believe, can help us in this situation. Because if there is anyone who knows how to fight drones, it is our friends in Ukraine. And therefore, of course, we are now also in dialogue with them. We are going to see more sabotage, more hacking, more drones, undersea cables being destroyed. Direct attacks on European democracies, as we currently see in the small country of Moldova. That Denmark and Europe are under more severe and hybrid attacks, I consider to be a new reality.

Ukraine has the world’s largest and most advanced drone warfare capability. We are offering this capability to our partners through the Drone Deal initiative. I’m grateful to everyone who has already joined this initiative and to those who are joining it.
