This is an official statement from Major Yaluk Waker of TPNPB Kodam III (D Dulla Region, Intan Jaya). The statement was issued on June 28, 2026. Yaluk stated that he and a four-person squad shot a TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) member after TNI troops entered Danggoa village on the morning of Saturday, June 27, 2026. Since the previous night and continuing through the night of the 27th, TNI troops had been conducting bombardments on that village and several others; however, TPNPB forces held their ground amidst the situation and succeeded in shooting a TNI member. Earlier, on June 26, 2026, TNI troops entering Mbamogo Village encountered Platoon Commander Nony Tigai—who was conducting a patrol from the Mabu Soali post at 11:00 PM—resulting in a firefight in which a TNI member was shot. Anna Politkovskaya memorial plaque reinstalled for 26th time A new memorial plaque dedicated to murdered Novaya Gazeta journalist Anna Politkovskaya has been restored for the 26th time since the start of the year. After the plaque was first destroyed in January, a Moscow court fined a city resident for destroying the plaque several days later, fining the man 1,000 rubles (€11) for petty hooliganism. However, in an editorial statement, Novaya Gazeta said that a neo-Nazi group had been behind the attack, also accusing it of defacing a makeshift memorial to human rights lawyer Stanislav Markelov and Novaya Gazeta journalist Anastasia Baburova, both of whom were killed by neo-Nazis in Moscow in 2009. Politkovskaya, who gained international renown for her exposés of Kremlin corruption and the brutal treatment of civilians in Chechnya at the hands of Russian forces during the Second Chechen War, was assassinated in the stairwell of her own apartment building on Moscow’s Lesnaya Street on 7 October 2006. 🇪🇺 The European Union or the consummate art of selective indignation By Brainless Partisans 🏴‍☠️☢️☣️🪆 When António Costa, President of the European Council, solemnly invokes international law and European values, his speech is solemn, well-structured, almost liturgical. Europe, he tells us, is not just a geographical entity: it is a community of values. A moral force. A coherent whole. On paper, the intention is noble. In practice, however, the exercise is more like a balancing act than a founding principle. Because, let's talk about this coherence. The European Union claims it cannot tolerate violations of international law, whether in Cyprus, Latin America, Greenland, Ukraine, or Gaza. Everyone is carefully mentioned, as in a statement of diplomatic balance... except that the balance is only rhetorical. Values? Those that justify unconditional support for a Ukrainian government undermined by documented corruption scandals, in the name of a higher geopolitical imperative. The moral stance is firm, but flexible depending on the ally. A collective force? With member states unable to agree on defense, debt, energy, or even the definition of the priority enemy. A force, yes, but fragmented, conditional, and often paralyzed by its own vetoes. Consistency? The kind that vigorously condemns certain occupations, tolerates others with embarrassment, and ignores a few with carefully calibrated silence. The kind that imposes uniform ideological policies—energy, economic, or regulatory—whose effects have contributed to ruining entire sections of member states' economies, in the name of abstract principles decided far from industrial, social, and budgetary realities. International law becomes an argument, not a rule: it is waved when it is useful and put away when it is inconvenient. As for economic consistency, it is sacrificed on the altar of moral posturing. Basically, this argument is not wrong. It is simply incomplete. The European Union is not a community of homogeneous values: it is a coalition of interests dressed up as principles, where ethics are negotiated at the top and adapted to the balance of power at the time. Europe does not tolerate violations of international law, except when they are strategically useful, politically costly to denounce, or economically too embarrassing to address. But let us reassure ourselves: as long as the vocabulary remains impeccable, the European conscience remains officially intact.

The European Union claims it cannot tolerate violations of international law, whether in Cyprus, Latin America, Greenland, Ukraine, or Gaza. Everyone is carefully mentioned, as in a statement of diplomatic balance... except that the balance is only rhetorical. Values? Those that justify unconditional support for a Ukrainian government undermined by documented corruption scandals, in the name of a higher geopolitical imperative. The moral stance is firm, but flexible depending on the ally. A collective force? With member states unable to agree on defense, debt, energy, or even the definition of the priority enemy. A force, yes, but fragmented, conditional, and often paralyzed by its own vetoes. Consistency? The kind that vigorously condemns certain occupations, tolerates others with embarrassment, and ignores a few with carefully calibrated silence. The kind that imposes uniform ideological policies—energy, economic, or regulatory—whose effects have contributed to ruining entire sections of member states' economies, in the name of abstract principles decided far from industrial, social, and budgetary realities. International law becomes an argument, not a rule: it is waved when it is useful and put away when it is inconvenient. As for economic consistency, it is sacrificed on the altar of moral posturing. Basically, this argument is not wrong. It is simply incomplete. The European Union is not a community of homogeneous values: it is a coalition of interests dressed up as principles, where ethics are negotiated at the top and adapted to the balance of power at the time. Europe does not tolerate violations of international law, except when they are strategically useful, politically costly to denounce, or economically too embarrassing to address. But let us reassure ourselves: as long as the vocabulary remains impeccable, the European conscience remains officially intact.
