We promised to not change the core experience in Keystone, and we're sticking by that. But we did think it was worthwhile experimenting with a couple of fun, optional, extras now we have a new rendering engine. What do you think?

Fine, I'll bite. Paper will never, ever, eat Figma's lunch. Not Paper, not Claude Design, not Google Stitch, not V0, bolt, lovable, base44 or any of the HTML/CSS-based canvas. Why? The number one reason: Performance. Paper struggles at 2-5K elements of plain rectangles For comparison, in the attached video: a small, early-stage exploration canvas with 13K elements. Real-world projects are tens of thousands sometimes hundreds of thousands of elements. Why do you think Figma has a hyper-optimized webGL rendering engine? It would've been way easier to have an HTML/CSS-based canvas if that was feasible. Figma's money comes from tens of thousands of organizations where *at the very minimum* need to support these canvas sizes. Does it hurt Figma that many individuals and small teams are switching to other tools? arguable. Does Paper have better *MCP support* than Figma*? 1000 percent. Not even close. but MCP support != better overall or even an option for most. I'm not saying Figma's lunch won't be eaten. I have a huge horse in that game, betting it will be. I'm saying *HTML/CSS-based canvases, specifically* won't.

just published a figma plugin for the cmyk halftone editor! originally made this as a separate website for a figma hackathon and it felt weird not having it as a plugin there too, so here it is link in the comments↴

Nikita Alexandrov made the same scene twice in Unreal Engine, once as a cinematic and once as a gameplay segment, to see what player control really takes away from it. 🎬 See the details: #gamedevelopment #indiedev #gamedesign

how based are you? it’s nice to see how more and more new apps are appearing inside the base app every day. it’s a great opportunity for users to get in early and earn rewards it’s also a big boost for the base ecosystem as a whole: active users get rewarded, the ecosystem grows, developers earn, users earn. a real win-win that’s what “base is for everyone” is all about “base me” is a fun app from the creator Fokki. you can spin the wheel and find out just how based you are. i got lucky and ended up being as based as jesse.base.eth you can join and try it yourself using the link below

I was given a very cool gun to animate by Katja Linssen. Had fun coming up with different angles to show the different parts. It was also a good way to practice rendering in Unreal See below for Katja's portfolio. There's a lot of amazing hard-surface artwork!

Just discovered Dekal via Timothée Peter's video modeling a spherical five-bar linkage in code. What makes it interesting: > Code-based kinematic design with a differentiable simulation engine > Describe mechanisms in code, instantly get workspace mapping, reachability analysis, and static load testing across every joint > Idea to kinematic validation ASAP; then push to CAD Its a cool project built by a mechanical engineer frustrated with iteration speed in existing tools.

Now that the engine is a lot more stable, ported my vehicle experiments to it. This was aimed to be somewhere between GTA4 and 5 in terms of handling.
