even the title sequence makes me happy

reminder to watch sweethearts, (1938). This was the director of singin in the rain’s favorite movie!

I’m still confused as to why they gave her those bigass boots, yk damn well they’re filled w water 😭😭

The greatest antidepressant ever filmed

This is one of my favourite movies… I absolutely love it! Especially the Good Morning song, and of course Gene Kelly!

this aura farming is crazy

this is actually my punishment

punishment??

lol idk I almsot ruined a watchparty by showering for 2 hours and then I promised lilly to promote maceddy by hit tweet farming and youd know how annoying ppl on here can be when ur tweet gets more than 100 views

@ritagayworths i love you for still doing it i thought it was like one and done, that doesn’t mean you should stop tho 😆💓🔥

@ritagayworths No never i genuienly think the maceddy gods are giving me the hit tweets…….. letterboxd liked this do u think they saw ur edit????

@ritagayworths oh my god this would be so funny we gotta get Liza back on the letterboxd list whatever thing this year but this time it’s with all maceddy movies

The fanfare as the names are displayed is what makes it.

@nkotblox this made me fall in love with watching films again

@cloud7n

Love this movie even more since I saw Babylon.

oh the levels of JOY i’m feeling🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Some interesting 411: Debbie Reynolds was only 19 when she appeared in the movie (Kelly was 40!). Also, she didn’t do all of her own singing. Two songs were performed by Betty Noyes. And Reynolds didn’t voice-dub for Lena LaMont - it was Jean Hagen’s real voice.

Yes. Its perfect musical.

The studio system at its best. Just like criticism of Col Parker: we may criticize some of the movies politically but they put out the product that will last forever. Even Fellini said, I watched movies and they were of course Hollywood movies.

In the same vein of Wizard of Oz: an amazing whimsical film but don’t look at the behind the scenes

You know I just realized, I have no idea what this movie is even about besides this sequence of them literally singing and dancing in the rain. What is 'Singin' in the Rain' even about? Can someone tell me the plot?

if only i could hear that song for the first time again with pre-Clockwork ears... still a perfect film

the video played on mute while getcha head in the game was playing on my spotify i highly reccommend
