Problem is is the fines are not nearly high enough for a company that made over 40 billion with a B. Make those fines end with 3 more zero's it will change.

FINALLY PUT THE GOVERNMENTS OFFICES OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES WHO WILL START FINING THESE CHEATING STORES! The one agency that grocery stores fear is the DEPARTMENT OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES with direct control over stores, and the ability to stop the stores from selling improperly priced, which includes weights, on the spot, without additional actions. While in-store the agents can stop the sale of an item until it is corrected. Have you ever received an item for free in a Safeway, because its price was miss-marked, or it rings up incorrectly? They give it to you to avoid a report to the DEPARTMENT OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES. Safeway took away your incentive to report the violation by giving it to you for less than you would have paid if there were no pricing errors.

A class action lawsuit? This is flat out fraud and it crosses state lines. The federal government needs to fix this and not just with Walmart.

Never never EVER buy meat or produce at a Walmart - you are taking your life in your hands. Buy only from the actual butcher department at your local grocery store instead!!!

Food service dude here. I’d like to add an additional layer here. The distributors are also rigging the weights (Sysco, GFS, ect.) when I receive a delivery from them, almost always (80%) of the time the *meat* weight specifically is way off. Invoiced 100lbs, received 84lbs.

Class action lawsuit is the only way to hold them accountable, the government sure as hell won't!

Some lawyers need to make an example out of @Walmart so the rest of the industry can learn not to commit this outrageous fraud.

We bought a 10 lb roll of Hamburger and it was short 1 lb.

Back when I ran a wholesale bakery, we assiduously checked for weights bc our customer base did as well. Shorting the customer was considered theft.

They need threats of closure bs a fines. But are attorneys taking the bulk of the funds? Is it just a money laundering scheme like everything else? Rip us off for hundreds of $M a year then pay attorneys to make it seem like they got punished.

One the phrases at poultry processing plants is they sell water not chicken. That’s why they get upset over the price of water. This is facts not a lie. After working in the poultry business I started informing ppl to have the grocery stores repackage and reweigh the meats to help them save money.

They pay a few million in fines and make it back in a few days by continuing to short their products. They need to be fined an amount that hurts them so they don't do it again.

Stop buying at Walmart. All their meat packages have that thick silicone pad filled with liquid in the bottom of the package. That along is how they cheat on the weight.

If you think that is bad, take a look at what's in the meats they sell rather than just weighing them.

I like Walmart but the digital dynamic pricing has put me off. They have good gas prices. I wonder when that will change to dynamic as well.
