I would bet that the mysterious “Sea Peoples” during the Bronze Age Collapse were an elite breakaway civilization grabbing resources to survive the collapse. Underground cities like Derinkuyu, built at higher elevations, were built by them to hide from cosmic radiation, civilizational collapse, and other calamities. People living in modern Turkey didn't know that this underground city existed until they found it by accident while renovating a basement.
